I don't want to post it here, but I will pm it to you once we are under contract and ready to go, don't want to curse it before it's all set :laugh:

It will be in September :bunny:

So..... I guess 6 months really isn't that long to plan a wedding :laugh:

I wonder what I will do when I find out that all the good djs are already booked

I think I'm officially excited :bunny:

Dude, when are you going to tell me where it is??

If it's within a 100 miles or so of me, I know a GREAT and inexpensive DJ.

It's like 5 minutes from where I live so I think that's within 100 miles.

The funny thing is, it's going to be at a hotel, at first I refused to even look at hotels. But then I was like, wait, this would make sense, especially with all these out of town and out of country guests

edit, well more like 20 minutes but you get the point :)

When I tell people when I'm getting married they ask "2010 or 2011?":eek:

Is it a white, old hotel on a hill?

And yeah, if it's that close to you it's probably like 60-70 miles from me. :)

Definitely let me know about the DJ you have in mind. I'm looking at two companies online right now but I'm feeling a little iffy about them.

Don't let him have a bachelor party or enjoy porn.

Marriages are not just about 2 people being joined in matrimony. Ideally, the marriage should be joining 2 families. Keep that in mind when making your guest list, planning the details, going into bridal -its-my-day mode.

When I was looking for a wedding dress I came across this place.

I love all that antique type 30s glamour.

Happy Planning Allina!

Since elopement isn't going to happen I have vowed to have a better attitude about the whole thing. I'm going to become the bride that everyone expects me to be and I'm going to enjoy this.

....

So LSers, share your wedding wisdom, advice, dos and don'ts.

I know you`ve said eloping is not an option.

My advice is to reconsider.

I`ve been married ten years and both my wife and I still wish we had just flown off to Costa Rica for a week and did the deed .

So much bull**** can be avoided this way.

:)

Are you serious? :confused::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'm really close to my family, my SO is close to them as well. Had we eloped to Vegas my parents would love him as their son just the same. Either way, we chose to include a lot of family, in part because we felt it was better for overall family happiness.

Thanks! These are beautiful but look a little hard to pull off. I'm putting off dress shopping until late April, so I'm waiting as long as I can

I thought that dress place was in SF, its in Seattle. Sorry Allina!

You are right- I love that 30s glam look but I couldn't pull it off either.

Good luck with the planning.

Posted

Wow!! I love, love, love those dresses, sb!

Are you sure you couldn't pull off that look allina? Seriously think about it. They're drop-dead gorgeous!

Posted

Just imagine them with a white fur stole (faux of course!) diamond drop earrings and pin waved hair 30s screen siren style..

I would love to have a 20s or 30s themed "do". Maybe I will for my 40th. :)

Themed weddings could be a little tacky IMO.

Amazing how time flies- I was full of wedding advice this time last year, but its all been replaced by baby "advice" and information.

Exciting stuff Allina!

It is exciting, I'm really happy. The last few mornings I've looked at my fiance and it hit me that he is going to be my husband very soon. I don't think I've ever felt such joy at 5:30am before

That's not to say that his mom has stopped with the drama, demands and hissy fits  Oh well.

I hope that happens for you SD :bunny:

It's such a crazy feeling, getting brided up (I like the term ). I tried on dresses for the first time a few days ago and seeing myself in a white dress and veil made it so real and exciting.
