mortensorchid Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I met this guy on Match many weeks ago. And I'm here to tell you that he's AWESOME. We get on wonderfully, we talk a lot, and he seems to be just as interested in me as I am in him. Valentine's Day is coming up. It's a given fact that if a man does not buy a woman a romantic gift (flowers, candy, etc.) for this holiday, he's just not that into you. I have it in the back of my mind that this holiday is the acid test to see if he really is that into me if he gets me something - ANYTHING - for Valentine's Day. If he does, then we will see what we see. Here is my question. What is an acceptable gift for a woman to buy a man for Valentine's Day if anything?

Well, if you don't buy anything, it's a clear red flag (either you're not interested or extremely cheap). But to answer your question, it really depends on how long and how well you know him...
OpenBook Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Since your R is less than a year old and it's not at the serious committed stage yet, I'd say buy him a cute card or maybe a baseball cap... anything small and lighthearted and fun but definitely NOTHING mushy or romantic!! He should be the one pushing the mushy/romantic stuff on YOU.
skydiveaddict Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 (edited) Buy him one of those little round nose hair trimmers Edited January 31, 2010 by skydiveaddict

You go shopping and he gets aroused
Author mortensorchid Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Now why didn't I think of that? Thank you, Explorer!
greatgirlfriend Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Personally, I'd get something relatively cheap because if he doesn't get you anything you won't look like a fool. Being that you've only dated a few weeks, it's not at the serious stage yet and he may not get you a gift. Of course if you are with him next Valentines Day that's another story.
