I met this guy on Match many weeks ago. And I'm here to tell you that he's AWESOME. We get on wonderfully, we talk a lot, and he seems to be just as interested in me as I am in him. Valentine's Day is coming up. It's a given fact that if a man does not buy a woman a romantic gift (flowers, candy, etc.) for this holiday, he's just not that into you. I have it in the back of my mind that this holiday is the acid test to see if he really is that into me if he gets me something - ANYTHING - for Valentine's Day. If he does, then we will see what we see.

Here is my question. What is an acceptable gift for a woman to buy a man for Valentine's Day if anything?

Well, if you don't buy anything, it's a clear red flag (either you're not interested or extremely cheap). But to answer your question, it really depends on how long and how well you know him...

Since your R is less than a year old and it's not at the serious committed stage yet, I'd say buy him a cute card or maybe a baseball cap... anything small and lighthearted and fun but definitely NOTHING mushy or romantic!! He should be the one pushing the mushy/romantic stuff on YOU.

Lingerie. It's a win-win. You go shopping and he gets aroused :D

Now why didn't I think of that? Thank you, Explorer!

Personally, I'd get something relatively cheap because if he doesn't get you anything you won't look like a fool. Being that you've only dated a few weeks, it's not at the serious stage yet and he may not get you a gift. Of course if you are with him next Valentines Day that's another story.
