threebyfate
I agree that excerpt sounds a little feminine but also, it says you're trying too hard to impress.
dreamergrl
Ok Im starting over how does this sound? (Work in progress) Hi im (name) . I am a very outgoing individual who is also very relaxed. I enjoy anything from going out on the town to an exhilarating adventure outside. Yet at the same rate I enjoy having a romantic and quite evening at home. My aspiration in life is to become a professional pilot and I'm currently working on my flight instructor rating. I'm looking for a partner in crime. Someone who I can share my adventures with and have a great time doing so. Id love to have a partner who enjoys going to the gym with me and working out as a couple. Id like to meet someone who isn't afraid to try new adventurous activities, physical or not. She should not be timid nor afraid to speak up. So if you a girl who isn't afraid of a fast paced adventurous lifestyle and isn't afraid to express their emotions without fear of being looked at as desperate the I'm your man. (I think this is very intimidating, but its what your suggesting right?) Um no. We were telling you your last one sounded intimidating. This one is much better. It's not so self absorbed. dreamergrl
Well in his defense we always do say we want the full package. It was like... well in Risky Business, where he goes sliding across the floor, and right before he stops and his middle is pushed out more. But he's no young Tom.
cognac
It appears that Lost's main focus is to get laid. So the bare chested pic suits his purposes. The attention he receives, jives with what he's portraying. But that's exactly what many of the women in this thread are saying. If a woman is looking for a relationship, she'll pass on a profile with a topless man. Now most men, if they saw a bikini or lingerie pic they liked, whether they're looking for a relationship or not, will be drawn and most likely will message the girl. If a man can get laid with a hottie, that's all that counts. If she proves to be unstable, some will move on, others will stick around for the sex, if it's good. Welcome to the difference between men and women, hence why many men judge women by how they, themselves, personally think. I will agree, but what infuriates me is how women pretend to be any different.

shadowplay
I will agree, but what infuriates me is how women pretend to be any different. We are different. That's the whole point. We don't just judge at face value, but try to assess character based on how people choose to present themselves.

We don't just judge at face value, but try to assess character based on how people choose to present themselves. You personally maybe.. But women are JUST as guilty of judging at face value.. please don't try to imply that women can't be as shallow and superficial as men and dismiss ppl with a glance

But women are JUST as guilty of judging at face value.. please don't try to imply that women can't be as shallow and superficial as men and dismiss ppl with a glance A guy will look at a woman and if she is clean, not overweight, and not ugly, she passes the looks test. For women there are a thousand other dimensions to whether a guy passes the physical test, and then another thousand hoops of fire for personality. I have no idea why people still hold on to the notion that it is any different.

I have no idea why people still hold on to the notion that it is any different. Pretty simple, for men anyway. Mothers are perfect, even if they fantasize about shirtless men other than dad Seriously, IMO, that's where it comes from; our developmental views of our female role model, generally 'mom', whether real or idealized. To view a reverse (negative) effect, read Woggle's posts. His mother was, well, just read his posts. He has no illusions about women being sugar and spice and all things nice nor judging men in such an altruistic manner. IMO, a healthy balance should be somewhere between the extremes. But women are JUST as guilty of judging at face value.. please don't try to imply that women can't be as shallow and superficial as men and dismiss ppl with a glance Of course women can be superficial, but it's all about degrees of superficiality. As somebody else pointed out if a girl with a nice body posts a lingerie photo of herself most men who look at it will respond well. If a guy with a nice body posts a shirtless photo of himself most women may think he looks attractive but wonder whyhe posted that photo? What does that say about him as a person? Women are more often trying judge character, in addition to attractiveness, where men mostly care about the latter.
