northstar1 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 In the spirit of joining in with the blanket statements across the genders that is so rampant on here..... Is this just another generalization, or is there any merit to this?
bluewolf17 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 That is 100% right all of the time, for every person and situation.
2sure Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I'd say NO. Completely 100% the opposite, all of the time. Men say the words they think they are supposed to and women do the heavy lifting. All of the time, without exception.
silktricks Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 :) you guys are funny!!! (My husband and I are both fixers... ) (oh yeah, and if you compare our cell phone bills??? He's a talker, too....)
sumdude Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Men like blowing things up even more than fixing them!
GorillaTheater Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Men like blowing things up even more than fixing them! Ha! Dead on, sumdude. And as far as that talking thing? I don't talk. Ever.
anne1707 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Men like blowing things up even more than fixing them! And women like telling them how they could have done it better even whilst doing the ironing or cooking dinner and that they would not have made such a mess
Trialbyfire Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 There is some merit to it, in that most women have an emotional support network and are encouraged to talk about their problems, previous to taking action. Men are encouraged to internalize the problem and find quick solutions, so they can refocus on regular season or worse yet, the playoffs. Btw, I so understand the male perspective. Fixer here.
cat-power Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 When it comes to me....not true at all ! If something bad happens, I don't wanna talk about it to anyone, male or female. I figure things out by myself and MAYBE i will tell someone when the storm has died, but most probably not.
bluewolf17 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 The only thing I can fix is dinner. You are a better woman than I.
sumdude Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I like fixing things. I do not want to be fixed THAT"S for sure. How did they come up with that word.. "Yeah, we fixed the dog?" He cannot reproduce anymore, he was just fine and now he's broken!
