butcher's hook Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 100% of perople are shallow. We are just shallow about different things ( men and women included ). Exactly! The questions should have been what % of people can actually admit it?
westernxer Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 The only non-shallow people are dead, and their depth is limited to six feet. LOL
shadowplay Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 In absolute terms? 100%. In relative, dunno, and depends on culture/location. I think people are by nature shallow. Given the constant blitz of information, we need to filter out the crucial stimuli and make snap judgments. We'd be paralyzed if we put everything in our environment under a microscope. It's a constant battle with our brains to challenge our immediate, lazy reactions. The majority coast along without even bothering. The most we can strive for is occasional depth, about things that matter. People can have areas of depth, but nobody is completely or even mostly deep throughout. A person who was wouldn't last a day in this BS world.
