Trialbyfire Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Citizen Drawn, I've stated my reasons and positions. I wouldn't date him due to his profession. I'm not going for another 60 pages on why. If you would date him for his profession, then tell him so. Beyond that, your comments are boring me again.
Trialbyfire Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Not really, no. I've answered whatever has been asked of me and backed up my opinions. You cannot say the same for yourself.Would you date him for his profession? I wouldn't.
Citizen Drawn Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Personally I think you can go on for another 60 pages. Ever seen the flim "the titanic", you really need to meet a Jack.
tanbark813 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Would you date him for his profession? I wouldn't. I don't base my dating decisions on profession.
sb129 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 His career would be a total turn-off for me, as defined by my previously stated reasons including being run around the block about 60 times to Sunday, by assorted members who prefer not to read what I've stated or choose to deliberately misunderstand it, or just choose to attack. That is all. Yeah, we got that. However, that wasn't "all". You did judge him pretty harshly.
Trialbyfire Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I don't base my dating decisions on profession. So I guess that means you would date him! I wouldn't based on all the previous reasons stated. Kahn, here's your man!
Trialbyfire Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Yeah, we got that. However, that wasn't "all". You did judge him pretty harshly.Would you date a professional gambler? Is this a turn-off or turn-on for you?
Jilly Bean Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Would you date a professional gambler? Is this a turn-off or turn-on for you? Yeah, but you didn't confine this to a would you date him thing. You made it an opportunity to crush the kid, intimate he has no skills for a real job, that his choice of present career is useless and wrong, tell Tanbark that a software engineer isn't a "real" engineer, and take the time to talk about yourself and your resume.

Why or why not? I wouldn't and have stated all my reasons why.
Jilly Bean Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Would you date a professional gambler? Why or why not? I wouldn't and have stated all my reasons why. Oh, I already answered this on page one. Just without all the other grandstanding and extraneous noise.
Trialbyfire Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Oh, I already answered this on page one. Just without all the other grandstanding and extraneous noise. Then you need to stick to what you're good at, which is high drama! As well, I honestly don't recall your response, so like myself, you'll have to answer it 4000 times. Once again, a professional gambler is a turn-off.

Sorry - you can try and bait me all you want - just makes you look small, weak, and defensive, so you can go try and find someone else to fight with you. And I don't need to repeat myself 4000 times to make my point, Trial. I made it once, and it was clear to everyone else. I'm not the one who's been pigpiled here by numerous members, remember? That would be you.

That would be you. Well, since I'm not part of the mob mentality, like you are, perhaps you might want to review who's weak and cowardly and who's willing to stand up to the madding crowds. Btw, considering how much you posture on LS, particularly about your legs and breast size, which is like 34 double or triple D, and your "business", you're one to talk...
sb129 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Would you date a professional gambler? Is this a turn-off or turn-on for you? Yes, I would. Particularly one like Kahn who has smarts about it. Obviously, there would need to be a few more attracting factors to secure the date. For reasons already stated, however I will reiterate them in a more concise manner. 1. Its no more risky than being a banker or trader in the current economic climate. Many occupations carry degrees of risk, and if I wanted to date someone who had a completely risk free job, I would be limiting myself somewhat. 2. I have an understanding of how successful gamblers can operate, and it involves much more skill and intelligence than many people give it credit. 3. I don't choose my dates based on profession or income level. I am attracted to a certain level of intelligence, definitely, but its not restricted to particular occupations.
39388 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 You're a good son, Kahn. I like this. Keep in mind, that despite what others may want you to believe, you don't need a resume to get a great job. Someone with your skill set could walk into a think tank and get a very high paying, and challenging job. Have you read the book about the boys from MIT who did the card counting? Or, heard about the kids who hack into the Pentagon and then end up getting a job with them? lol Possessing strong math skills and having a strategic mind is far more transferrable and attractive to many employers than having a 90-page resume that's most likely intensely fabricated. I think if, and when, you chose to get out of full-time gambling, you will have more options that you think. You could end up working for a gaming hotel being in charge of revenue management. I completely agree. Some people who succeed work their way up the corporate structure. Others, like the OP, succeed in other ways. The OP understands how money works, which few people of any age seem to get and he's only 23. So many people just max out their credit cards, having no idea what they are doing. The OP may not have a long resume yet, but how many people do at 23? He has many transferrable skills.

sb129 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Jeez would you put a sock in it already? You don't believe him, we get it. Anything else is just more blah blah blah that isn't helping the OP. You don't believe anyone about anything, so there is no news there. Lets just say he can prove to you that he is for real- would you date him then?
Citizen Drawn Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Kahn, seriously.. What site do you play on, and what is your screen name.. I would love to watch you play.I would sincerely be cheering you on if you are winning all kinds of money. But honestly, I do not believe it. Poker sites in the end keep over 95% of all money deposited. Poker is not a game in which you need to be a mathematical genius. There is some skill involved, but simply not that much. Not sure why he'd want to give that out to some doubting thomas so you can go and talk smack on the rail. As I'm playing low limits and I don't care - here you can have mine (username and network in the header ). I'm sure you'd love to come and watch me play $5 omaha h\l heads up games (You can lookup my stats - I was the second most profitable online player last year at this level and currently in 3rd this year) http://www.sharkscope.com/SharkScope/DisplayGraph?GraphType=UserHistory&u1=propellerhead&Network=ipoker&Username=sswebsite&Password=&Currency=USD&TimeZone=8&ClientTimeZoneValue=GMT&searchTag=338.7378589095226&GraphWidth=540&GraphHeight=420&nocache=1248808869640&version=292&GeneralSearchType=SNGO&Filter=%20SNG%20Only
sb129 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 The OP has more sense than I do, thats for sure. He doesn't feel the need to justify or explain himself to you at all Caliz... Props to him for that.
sb129 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 PS- that wasn't directed at you either CD... well done on your success too. Nice work.
Citizen Drawn Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 PS- that wasn't directed at you either CD... well done on your success too. Nice work. Thanks (I'm kinda hoping cal will show up with some money so I can give them a lesson )
Citizen Drawn Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 http://www.sharkscope.com/index.html?username=propellerhead&network=ipoker Take a good look at the graph. If you want to tell me how a constantly upward trend with minor variance over almost 8000 games is "luck" I'd be all ears.
sb129 Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Cool, thats great Caliz. How nice for you and your guy pals at work. I feel honoured that you are so interested in my life you discuss it IRL. TO me, you are just like an annoying itch that won't go away, and certainly not someone important enough to be discussing IRL. You obviously explained it to your buddies the way you believe it works, which is wrong. You still haven't grasped the concept of how its possible. You are still fixated on $50 being the only investment- it isn't. Its the only investment of our money. Yawn. I know what happened, I understand the way it works, and I have seen the results. I have my Hs betting account (and email and bank acc and FB etc etc) passwords, he isn't a secretive guy, so whatever you choose to believe, if it works for you then thats fine. Last laughs really on you, because we got to enjoy the cash through it, and nothing you say can change that now. Our honeymoon was awesome.
PrincessOfDarkness Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Yes I would date you OP. And I am 29 for the record. I think that you are smart and lots of people that put long hours for less money are envious of you (but they would never tell you that). Having said that, I wouldn't date a gambler who is clearly addicted to gambling and is indulging in very risky behavior. THAT would be a turn off. You seem to approach gambling in a very methodical way and because you are not addicted, you approach it rationally. Props to you for that. You have achieved a lot, albeit in an unconventional way. You should be very proud of yourself
