Meaplus3 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Theres a new reality dating show coming out about older women being paired up with younger men. Well I dont like it. We need to stop putting these crazy ideas into women's heads Hmmmm..I'll have to check this one out. Mea;)
jerbear Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Hm...so instead of just focusing on the "cougar," maybe there needs to be some sort of animal nickname for these young guys chasing older women. sucklings. Hmmmm..I'll have to check this one out. Mea;) Suckling chasing cougar!
Lizzie60 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 But this will encourage more women to seek out younger guys Im 34 man and Im not rich like you I have to correct you here.. older women (most) DON'T go after young men.. it is the young men who chase the older women. I have been with many many many young men for the last 12 years (including my last ex) .. it's always been the young guys who hit on me... not the other way around. And one more thing... it's not for ALL women.. some women, who can have younger men.. just won't, cause it's not their cup of tea. But if a woman can have younger guys.. then why not? I don't see any problems... everyone is happy. If older women is NOT your thing.. then why are you concerned that it might give them ideas.. why do you care?
Chicago_Guy Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 younger than she is I always thought that a cougar was 20+ years older than the guy. If the woman is only a couple years older, that doesn't seem that extraordinary to me.
Lizzie60 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Hm...so instead of just focusing on the "cougar," maybe there needs to be some sort of animal nickname for these young guys chasing older women. Yes.. they are called 'cubs'
Chicago_Guy Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I have a feeling that Warren Buffett would be a great lay. Bill Gates' technique would probably lack flair. Women will always seek out money and power' date=' whilst sex for them is simply the icing on the cake. Men, however, recognise sex as the cake itself.[/quote'] Warren Buffett is nearly 80 years old. That man refused to split BRKA even when its stock price topped $150,000/share. I think that his ego is so large that looking up the price of BRKA on the Internet turns him on more than any woman ever could!

If the woman is only a couple years older, that doesn't seem that extraordinary to me. In my book... a 5 yr age gap = same age 5 to 10 = not much 10 to 15 = a good age gap 15 to 25 = quite an age gap 25 to 35 = an extraordinary age gap..
St. Nick Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I don't think this show will have much appeal. It's going to wear thin because all these reality dating shows are a bore. They all have the same format, even though the concept is different. On the subject of cougars themselves, it is a complicated one. I'm 24, and yes, I've approached older women in their 40s and even 50s but I've also been equally approached. When people say that it's a double standard because it is considered okay for men to date much younger women but not okay for women to date much younger men I find older women fuel the stereotype the most. Many of the older women I've been with said they've gotten more headache from women than men in general. So it seems women push the double standard more than men.
samspade Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I have been with many many many young men for the last 12 years (including my last ex) .. it's always been the young guys who hit on me... not the other way around. It usually is this way, anyway, in any age group. Usually the men do the hitting-on, and the women either reject or react favorably. With most women I've dated, it happened because I had the guts to start a conversation with them. In any case, since I don't believe in ripping "older" men for dating younger women, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If that's what two adults want, go ahead. I've dated women 10 years my senior, and had a lot of fun (I think/hope they did, too). It amazes me that we live in an era wherein just about any adult can have a relationship with any other adult - interracial, homosexual, etc., but the age gap is still frowned up on by so many. There is a tendency to paint the female as a victim: If she's the younger party, she's naive and preyed upon; if she's the older party, she's being led on by a guy who's not serious and just playing around. Give these women a little credit. They can think for themselves and it's their decision as much as the hombre's. Anyway, older or younger, male or female, you will have the dating options YOU want if you are only willing to explore them, and disregard the close-minded criticisms of others.
soserious1 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Who actually watches these reality shows anyway ? To me, they are all the proof needed to call TV "the Idiot box".
westernxer Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Who actually watches these reality shows anyway ? Enough to warrant a discussion. LOL To me, they are all the proof needed to call TV "the Idiot box". We're all junkies. LOL
You'reasian Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Fellow LS-ers, what's your idea of the perfect cougar? I'm not really concerned about if she's wealthy or not. For me, she takes good care of her body - has a similar energy level (somewhat energetic, not over the top), slightly young at heart, good person etc. Not really much different than any woman at any age I'd be attracted to, except that older women tend to cut to the chase alot faster than younger ones, don't rely on games as much (note, I said as much lol) and are easier to talk to. Generally speaking, I'd rather be with a beautiful woman with a smokin' hot bod at 38 than the same one at 18 - if the personality stereotypes were true.
westernxer Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Fellow LS-ers' date=' what's your idea of the perfect cougar?[/quote'] Not any of those women from "Real Wives of Orange County".
bac Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Theres a new reality dating show coming out about older women being paired up with younger men. Well I dont like it. We need to stop putting these crazy ideas into women's heads The cougar is a woman in 40s who is chased by many men who are in 20s. She does not chase young guys at all. But the young guys look at her as she is a goddess. The relationship is not serious and it is just for a very hot sex. It is a rare situation when a male and a female have the same objectives towards each other, just sex. If an older woman wants to have sex with the young guys but they do not want her with high enthusiasm she is just an older female but the cougar.

westernxer Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 45 year old man + 25 year old woman = practice 25 year old man + 45 year old woman = practice
pollywag Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Not any of those women from "Real Wives of Orange County". Why not? (I have my own views but I don't want to say until I hear your reasoning...)
westernxer Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Why not? (I have my own views but I don't want to say until I hear your reasoning...) Because they're freaky.
D-Lish Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 From the preview it doesn't seem like a whole football team could keep her happy. I do like the concept' date=' though.[/quote'] :lmao: Like every other reality show, I think the contestants who willingly participate make themselves look pathetic. There is no way I'd want to go on a show and accept that label in order to be exploited. The sequel will be a show called: "THE MANTHER":lmao: where some dude in his 50's has a room full of 22 year olds to choose from.
D-Lish Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Not any of those women from "Real Wives of Orange County". Those women are soooooooooo pathetic. The men are just as pathetic. I cringe when I watch it (at 2am when nothing else is on) These are just vapid, shallow individuals that actually look creepy because of the plastic surgery!
alphamale Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 first it was "MILFs" and now its "Cougars", sheesh
Woggle Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 The Orange County women would be pathetic at any age. I hope that show is not an accurate representation of that area because I can't see why anybody would want to live there.
You'reasian Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 first it was "MILFs" and now its "Cougars", sheesh What next? GILFs?
pollywag Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Because they're freaky. Oh ok good we agree! They are a bunch of trailer trash who now have some money but are annoying as heck. Never seen such a classless bunch of women. If all the women in OC are like that, it's best they are kept in a gated community and under control. For the sake of reproduction and progeny, and for the general safety of society at large.
