RichGuy Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 that dull looking cat in your AV, plus you seem like a serious person... hence, boring = old Isolde, I was thinking the same as zenith. I thought you were 30+ for sure just because of your super-conservative cat picture. You need to put a sexy pussy in there, kinda like TrialByFire, or at least a cute kitten. That generic gray cat screams of old maid. That's the type of cat you could imagine an old woman would own.
prettybaby Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I see a bit of everything when I go out. Young people dating each other, old people dating each other, younger chicks with older guys, and sometimes (but not very often) younger men with older women. So it seems quite varied. I guess it depends on where you are located? Personally, I'm 25 and dating a 39 year old. We really click. I think it really depends on the person. We actually found out a few days ago that our parents are the same age (they had him young and mine had me late), so hey, maybe our similar upbringing is a factor here. I remember reading a book in college about how we unconsciously tend to click better with people who share a similar background (similar social class, upbringing, values, which often goes together with being from the same area, etc). I used to think it was BS, but I've come to the conclusion that it's often true as far as I'm concerned. And it's something I don't even look for in people because I tend to think I'm quite open minded, but it often surfaces later on as we start to learn more about each other. Quite interesting.
RichGuy Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Does the term statutory rape mean anything to you? Humans have been around for at least 30,000 years you know? And that's being very generous, since there is enough evidence to make an argument for 130,000 years. Only religious fundamentalists would dispute 30,000. Hammurabi's code of laws appeared 4,000 years ago. Statutory rape laws appeared maybe 500 years ago, again being very generous with the estimate. So no, I don't think sexual laws mean too much. It's like prostitution, it's a victimless 'crime'.
blind_otter Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I've always dated older men, and I look a lot younger than I am. I blame the asian in me. I've never noticed it being an issue.
Woggle Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Youger women lack a certain maturity and perspective on life and are not good relationship material for the most part. If you just want a quick fling they are good but even that can turn into a nightmare. It's just endless drama with many of them and older women tend to be over that drama addiction.
Trialbyfire Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I remember reading a book in college about how we unconsciously tend to click better with people who share a similar background (similar social class, upbringing, values, which often goes together with being from the same area, etc). I used to think it was BS, but I've come to the conclusion that it's often true as far as I'm concerned. It's very true. That's what brings about the feeling that you've known someone for a long time. While this isn't always the case, you'll share similar positive and negative triggers, therefore your actions will cause expected reactions from the other person. Of the men I've gotten involved with who weren't from similar backgrounds, it's been an exercise in frustration. We just don't "get" each other, regardless of similar interests and chemistry. The word "WHA?" comes up more often than not!
Oliveman Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Hmmm well for what it's worth I'm 28 and dating a 21 year old girl. I have no problems at all. Yeah, she is a little more work than an older girl, but I have a lot of confidence and have no problem working for something that seems worthwhile.
Balthazar Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 For the last year or so, I(38) have dated mostly younger women(20-30). The early 20's group is certainly fun but they can be a lot of work. The late 20's group is much better relationship material and still has many of the positive qualities of the early 20's. Is dating older guys a thing of the past? Nope, not in most parts of Europe, although the US is probably a completely different kettle of fish.

I had a tough time not laughing last week when one of the girls I'm dating (age 25) hinted around about getting more serious by saying "I"m ready to settle down, I'm getting old". The funny thing is that while it sounds silly, she's right. If she wants to settle down and have a little fun in her marriage before having a few kids her time-line is starting to shorten up.
burning 4 revenge Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 as the economy worsens you'll see more younger women with older more established menwhy didnt i hear anything like this in obamas innaugaration speech?

You won't believe it, but a girl I am going to date(she is 26) told me the same thing!

That's a really good point, and very true..Especially if she might want, or her husband wants more than one child.
clv0116 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 That's a really good point, and very true..Especially if she might want, or her husband wants more than one child. Indeed, she has stated she wants at least 2 and probably no more than 4 children. While it's physically possible for an older woman to have kids I've seen what it does to their bodies and it's not pretty. The younger ones seem to snap back into shape a lot better and have fewer issues of all types.
