.....If you don't know they've got them - how would you avoid them?

And if by NOT avoiding them and befriending them, what do you then do if you find they've got them? Cut off all contact?

Touche carries a mini-metal detector. It doubles as a beach going device.

A beach going device????

Touche walks up to women on the beach.

"Random security screening maam."

Waves wand over bikkini.... BEEEEEPP BEEEEPPP.

"I'm sorry maam, I'm going to need you to remove your top."

Haha...no, Touche's a woman. If she's going to stripsearch someone, it will be a ripped volleyball player.

Haven't you seen those guys on the beach with metal detectors, searching for buried treasure in the sand?

Oh, I see. Thankfully, no. Though I've seen them on TV... always stereotyped as complete nerds or pudgy and balding middle aged men whose idea of a good time at the beach is finding loose change and dreaming of buried treasure. :D

You guys are so funny.

Ok, maybe I was a little harsh in my statements.

Uhm...tattos are fine. Yeah.

In tribes in other countrys, piercings and tats on men...are part of becoming a man. As well as scarification art.

I see them in a slightly negative light. Being a guy the one positive I could think of is a woman with a tongue piercing (for the obvious reason).

I know that other countries do that, but I see them as archaic forms of expression. In modern society they serve no real purpose. Plus I think with the amount of people with tatoos and piercings nowadays you are probably more unique if you don't have either.

Well, I guess there's always the exception that proves the rule....

I'm cut-glass accent British. I'm so posh people think I'm royalty!

Of course, I can 'play it up' or 'play it down' according to necessity.... I'm usually very smartly dressed (part of the job) as I have to meet clients on a regular basis and be highly presentable, 90% of the time.

I have 9 tattoos and one belly-button piercing.

I've been told on more than one occasion, "Goodness, I didn't think you were the type....!"

To which I reply -

"And what type would that be....?" *sweet smile*...... :p

That 100 times more understandable then what the OP was saying. The things that you are talking about(depending on where the tattoos are and what they are of) are still able to be feminine and appropriate. Body piercings aren't manly and look out of place on a man.

I myself have 7 tattoos and a belly piercing. But mine all look feminine and tasteful. The belly ring is a simple white gold bar with a diamond on the top and a diamond on the bottom. All my tattoos are hidden when in my work clothes...not usually visible unless in a bikini. And like you people have said the same thing, 'you don't look like the type', to me. But a man with pierced nipples and c*ck , I just can't get on board.

I have a few body piercings myself and I was just wondering how people feel about them

I have my nose pierced. I normally wear a tiny stud and it's just fine. People don't treat me differently because of it. I've been in the professional environment and had no problems with it.

Granted, if I had to take it off once in a while, I would. No biggie (so long as the piercing doesn't close).

Wow, OB. I didn't think you were the type.

;)

Well, it was a personal decision.

Culturally, it's totally accepted. I consider myself "ethnic" and Canadian (whatever that means)...so it wasn't really big deal. My mom was hesitant about it (she didn't know how it'd affect my future career potential).

I actually know quite a few people (not just w/in my ethnicity) that have their nose pierced.

I personally think it suits me.

Well, I've seen your pic in the past, and someone as gorgeous as you are can get away with it. Not too many can though.

Thank you, it's very nice of you to say!

I'm also going to get a tat sometime. :p

Nooooooo! NOT a tat...no one is THAT gorgeous! Please don't do it, OB. I'm serious. You have like model type good looks. Why would you do that to yourself?

Just one over my shoulder. It's a reward for something.

My mom said that there was no WAY I she was going to be OK with it (apparently my mother still ownership of my body).

Your mom and me!

Listen why not go get an ice cream cone or a book or something?

Why desecrate your lovely shoulder in that way? Do you know how disgusting that's going to look one day? I'm serious.

You should listen to your mother.

If I listened to my mom, I'd be marrying someone I wasn't in love with. ;)

But yah, the tattoo idea isn't happening any time soon.

I think she should do it. A black tattoo with out any color is still able to be tasteful. I think if you get a small symbol and not a picture(a symbol that means something to you) you should be fine.

Actually, it'll be similar to what you describe (a symbol, dark ink, if not black).

I'm more afraid of the pain than anything else.

It has some meaning to it. I'll be getting it with my bf (he's getting an identical one).

So yeah, let's hope I don't regret it.

then let me explain..lol

I work in the business world, I have very high and important clients, non of which would ever know i have any tattoos or piercings.

All of tattoos have meaning to me and I do not agree with people getting them just to look good.

Piercing on the other hand i find to be tasteful and sexy, depending on placement and person.

growing up i always wanted facial piercings, but i new that one day it would seem immature to have especially now in the business world.

One look at me and I would not seem like "the type" to carry anything on me. Beleieve me I get the same shocking looks.

and one thing is correct the piercings hold no meaning, but i do feel that they add to my personality, of who i really am. also a side note to that, my nipple growing up since i was a fat kid where puffy and i always hated that. now they arent since they are pierced. Just a bit of TMI, lmao

I am glad to hear everyones opionion on the subject, i had no idea i would start something like this

I'd never get one myself but I don't mind if someone else has them, as long as they are actually into it rather than just doing it as a BS fashion statement.

What if you break up? Will it still have such a special meaning to you? Or will it be a horrible reminder?

Just wondering...what's the difference?
