liveforthelaunch Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Seventy nine days. It's the longest I've gone without seeing him since we met, and it's brutal! It was about four and a half months total, and it has gone by fairly fast so far, and the thing is, when I see him, I'm there for 75 days! So it'll be worth the wait.

lonely79 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 8 or 9 days! we're trying to figure out if he's gonna come see me or just stay with his parents the first night he's in... its actually kinda a big decision cuz if he comes to see me, then he will meet my daughter! I'm okay with it (she's actually too young to realize or remember it), but I dont want to pressure him... we'll see i guess!

I'm so jealous of all the people that complain they see their partners only every few weeks, I know I shouldn't be, but it's just so frustrating . . .

Cathster Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Well I'm now only 1000 miles away from my SO as opposed to 4000, and 1 hour behind instead of 5 hours ahead. And in 5 days I will be heading back to the airport to go and see him! YAY

I don't get frustrated at those who get to see their SO every few weeks. I'm in your boat, though. While I get to see boyfriend in 19 days, I haven't seen him since the beginning of January. After my week vacation with him, I might not see him until August. August is a BIG might. If that doesn't happen, we'll go long distance until he returns in November.

I'm really scared but hoping for the best. It was fine! It reminded me of going to get my passport actually, or something along those lines. Very impersonal. With a bit more security. I went to the reception on a lower level of the building, they looked at my intro letter and passport, scanned me, took my bag and stored it away. Then up the elevator to another level, showed my passport again and got buzzed through the heaviest bloody door I have ever come across. Then, I took a number, sat down for maybe 5 minutes and then got called to one window. She got my stuff together, I handed her my passport and a few other things they wanted then she told me to sit down again. Waited another 10 minutes and got called to another window, the guy looked over everything, asked how we met (had to give him the website we met on, watch out LS the US government is watching ) how many times we have seen each other, when we last saw each other and asked to see a more recent photo of each other from his last visit. Seeing the red approved stamp was the best thing I've seen since I last saw Pyro. That was pretty much it. I gave them a 3kg pre-paid envelope and they'll send an envelope with all the documents for me to give to the point of entry customs. Plus my passport with the new addition to it of course. Best of luck with your application! I think the waiting is the worst part. And now I have the knowledge that even after I'm there, and we are married, it's still a long process before I don't have to worry about visa's etc. One thing is that it gives you the time to really think things through, to plan and be confident in that you're doing the right thing. civibf Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 6 more days and I'm moving to live with her for 4 months:) I'm just worried that, after seeing each other every day for 4 months, being apart for another 8 will be worse than I can even imagine...
Citizen Erased Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 43 days. They mailed out my passport and my K1 documents to me on Thursday, long weekend so it's been delayed, but it'll hopefully be in my hand next week. :bunny: Will be VERY happy to see my passport again.
Jon10 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 15 days...but she called it quits with me on the phone a few days ago. Shes decided to still make the trip and stay with her cousin in the same town that I live in....horrible.
