SierraMarie Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 OKay, I just have a serious question about guys here. Why do guys like you more the less attention you give them. It's like if you actually really care about a guy and act like it, they really don't care about you. But if the next second you decide you don't care about that guy, they are trying to get your attention again. It' really annoying. How are you ever supposed to know if a guy really likes you. No, how are you ever supposed to find someone that really likes you and you really like them back, because if you act like you like them, then they won't like you. But if you're really not interested in someone, then they're like in love with you. What's up? Why are guys like this? I know this probably is stupid, but I really want to know.
Nemo Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Oh dear. Another case of "nice girl" syndrome. Don't worry, we are here to educate you.

McFadden Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 The less you act like you like them, the more they will like you. This is The One Rule of All Things. It works for guys against girls also. It will also work with your dog or cat or other small pets, and sometimes inanimate objects (when you really need your computer it doesn't work, ever notice that?) I don't have a lot of experience so I don't know if this works with people past like the age of 20 or not though.

Trialbyfire Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Another episode of the mating/dating game. If you find a drama boy like this, walk away...and if he chases you...run faster...and if he continues to pursue, jump in your car, pedal to the metal and never look back...

Nemo Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 You take paradise and put up a parking lot... I think Joni paved it.
Trialbyfire Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Size matters. So that's why they took away my old man.
Nemo Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 So that's why they took away my old man. Maybe he took the taxi. I don't think the taxi took him. I'm not sure this song is entirely accurate. http://jonimitchell.com/musician/song.cfm?id=BigYellowTaxi I'm revoking her artistic licence.

Nemo Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 The best love is for free? Not sure about that. But it shouldn't be locked up in a glass case. It should be cherished, and touched, and used regularly.
daphne Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Sierra, I'm convinced that it's the universe law of human nature. Both genders are susceptible to it, but women tend to be less so. I recommend the book Why Men Love Bitches. Even if initially it makes you feel like you're playing games, I'd recommend you change your modus operandi. I used to be a doormat and guys would lose interest. I'd dump them and of course then they realized what they lost, but I'd lose interest. So now I try to keep their interest before they screw up. Some men prefer submissive women, but they usually treat them like crap. Most others like a woman that can hold her own. She can be ultra feminine but not put up with any crap. This i'm saying from personal experience. I'm a good girl, but I'm certainly not a nice girl.

LN99 Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Sierra, I have noticed the same thing. The less needy you are and the less attention you show someone, the more they seem interested. Then, if you show interest, they back down a bit. I tested this theory out a few times and so far, it's been pretty dead on. I told my friend about this and she has had the same results. It's definately about balance. Those links posted were good.... Plus, men are natural hunters. We gotta make them do the work sometimes...
FormerNiceGuy Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 People want what they can't have. If you give a dog a treat every single time he comes when you call, he'll start to get lazy. He'll figure "Eh, why should I hurry? I can get over there in my own good time, and take the treat."
