See how things get blown out of proportion and people need "rules" set up..... to be reminded of the rules.....

It is hilarious!

Trying to dicatate to others how they need to communicate.

The post is very ironic BTW...... hilariously ironic IMHO.

Now be nice.....

Is this not thread # 500+ of how OM/OW need to be treated/talked to by others?

Beat that dead horse! But beat it nicely! :lmao:

Oh, OK, I get it now. Thank you and I have to say, I agree.

But, I still think WWIU is a very wise person.

The irony of this is, if people actually did adhere to the first locked thread at the top of the forum about responding to posts, it would not have been neccessary for the 500th + thread about the same thing.

Every one of us is only human. And humans have emotions. Some of us are more prone to voicing those emotions as they truly feel them. I think the phrase we use is "wearing your heart on your sleeve", or something like that. As long as the public is invited to these sites, you will have a varying degree of emotions. No one can control how another person thinks or how they express their emotions and opinions. That is what makes life interesting and what makes us human.

Now, I would love to continue to chat, but I have work to do, so I hope you all have a great day.

whoever said that the 500 threads were even necessary ?

I think there already is a set of LS guidelines as well as an FAQ..

If you don't like someones advice either ignore it or report it.. but if you are not a mod then to tell someone how to post isn't necessary..or even very nice..

it is just fanning the flames to get the digs in you needed too and hiding behind the I'm trying to do something nice for LS post.

Sorry.. I don't agree with people besides mods telling people what, or how to post..

That might just be me.. but oh well...

You cannot expect people to not be compelled to voice their opinions - more so if they are in a state of anger and pain. Be it a OW/OM or BS.

It is a human thing...... emotions.

Now if I decide to post that I just set a kitten on fire I would indeed expect 2 sorts of responses....

I am evil, deserve to be set on fire myself.

I would expect some support from people that hate cats.

I don't think I need to control what either type of person chooses to post..... after all I decided to air my kitten burning out here- knowing there will be 2 sorts of responses most likely. If I only wanted support of validation for my kitten burning I would post on a private pro kitten burning forum. :o

*note I am not comparing any person, poster, or alien imposter as an actual kitten burner.

Exactly that was my point, if people could be bothered to read the very first locked post and adhere to the advice then none of these threads or posts would have been neccessary in the first place but as people can't be arsed they subsequently continue to post whatever, however they like and then posts like this will appear.

lol, you kitten burner you. I like cats as well.

I agree, the point is this place is full of very high emotions and yes every one is entitled to their own opinion on a subject, but sometimes people should "step away from the keyboard" for maybe 10 mins before they respond without giving their replies a 2nd thought, I have learnt to do that on here, but made an exception for a KITTEN BURNER, lol.

i know im fairly new and you've all been very good to me (as in let me rant & rave without attacking me or upsetting me) but speaking of kittens .. when xMM called me out of the blue.. i informed him quite happily i now owned two kittens (he knows i loved them) i have a funny feeling that my two beautiful kittens were the reason he didn't call me back... which in turn led to me making a D day kind of call to his house five days later.. (accidental not intended and bad timing)

Im sure i recall mm telling me during our A that if i had cats (which i didn't back then) he wouldn't have been able to see me as he wouldn't have been able to explain the cat hair.. my hair could be explained as it was the same length/color as his daughters. He went on with so much drivel a lot of it went in one ear and out the other.

Now if it was my two beautiful kittens that made him not call then good! It makes me glad he may have been caught because my kittens are sooooo cute!

And.. i know that if someone said to me .. you have a choice between this guy (mm) and these two kittens...which do u never want to see again..i'd be choosing to keep my little meows with NO hesitation!

Apologies for being off topic but i did have a chuckle @ the kitten burning comparison...

Well If someone if feeling a certian way about something then why not post it, she did not direct it to anyone just in general, so why not discuss it again?

Thanks to all who have responded thus far and I hope the thread continues!

These are merely "suggestions" not an imploration nor to stand in any way shape or from the LS "house rules".

I feel, personally, that self expression is of upmost importance and should not be censored, however, I posted this from the ideal that if one would consider HOW they are expressing themselves--they may be better "heard".

As I feel every one wishes to be heard and not disregarded.

Tough love and honesty is one thing; being manipulative or just an ASS for the sake of being an ASS is another....

Carry on!

POM... I think that you have a very caring loving openmindedness about you that is the essence of you you are!

But it takes all kinds you know...I think though it has gotten much better and will continue to...

WOW!!! LS is such an awesome place.

I mean, not only does this place have MODS, but it has Forum Police too!!!

Again, this is another interesting thread. Respect and propriety are viewed in different ways by different people. Some people may think that the word "hell" is inappropriate, others rip the word off every second sentence. Some people love sarcasm, other's feel it's the lowest form of humour. I guess tolerance is key in such a large group of individuals where most are suffering from different forms of pain. The easiest way to not get stressed about things is to let the anger and resentment go. Isn't that the litany of LS?

I'm in agreement with the individuals who feel that mods should define what's appropriate and what's not.
