Motor35 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 To you, what are the 5 MOST important things in a relationship? (And in order, please)
justagirlforever Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 1) Self Respect / Self acceptance / Self Love 2) Communication & Listening That's it really
Pyro Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 1) Self Respect / Self acceptance / Self Love 2) Communication & Listening That's it really I am sure that honesty and devotion fit in there somewhere.
Trialbyfire Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Love, respect, trust, honour (principles, integrity, etc) and friendship, in no particular order.
Author Motor35 Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 How important is sex in a relationship to all posters?
justagirlforever Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I take that for granted so didn't cross my mind. But yes you are right. Honesty. And well, why would you be in a relationship if you're not devoted? But yes, would be applicable too.
justagirlforever Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 How important is sex in a relationship to all posters? lol to me it's a part. But doesn't feature in my list of 5 most important aspects of a relationship. Not that I don't like or don't want it. But I'm far more forgiving on that. Whereas I won't compromise on the others.
Pyro Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 And well, why would you be in a relationship if you're not devoted? But yes, would be applicable too. LS would not exist if that wasn't a problem to some.
justagirlforever Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Not each relationships ends due to lack of devotion. There are many many reasons why relationships end - sadly
Star Gazer Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Love (including passion), respect (includes honesty, trust, fidelity - you can't respect someone you aren't honest with, trust, and faithful to), communication, and laughter.
climbergirl Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Honesty (which really means-no cheating) Respect (which includes devotion and.......no cheating) communication (and problem solving within relationship) sex (mutual attraction and the hot&sweaty kind) sense of humor (I appreciate the ability to laugh through the bs)

Pyro Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Not each relationships ends due to lack of devotion. There are many many reasons why relationships end - sadly Besides a timely death or moving away, what are some other reasons?
Pyro Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 1. the size of his willy. 2. how much stuff he buys me. 3. how rich he is. 4. which cars he owns. 5. whether he has good hair. :lmao:
ruby_gloom Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Love Respect Honesty Stability (read: emotional--all this drama and wishy-washyness is so not wanted) Sense of humor That's all, really. Seems easy enough but it sure isn't. As far as sex goes: Sure, it's meaningful, but it's not nearly as imperative as the above qualities. Sex with someone you love is and can always be great, imo, because it should be an act that surpases the more mundane view of what "hot sex" is.
justagirlforever Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 1) Self Respect / Self acceptance / Self Love 2) Communication & Listening That's it really I should expand - because in my mind it's fairly simple. But clearly doesn't come across that way. 1) Self Respect / Self acceptance / Self Love (contributes to pride and confidence) - one has to have that in able to give respect, have acceptance (of the imperfections - life is not perfect - no one is), give & accept love. Love give and take is a must. All these to me are musts. No compromise. 2) Communication & Listening - without this, no relationships can be fulfilled. 3) Honesty (which is very much one of the utmost important aspects) & sincerity. 4) Trust - which ties in with honesty 5) Laughter (and fun and pleasure in the little things in life) - again - something I take for granted. If there's none of this to start with, it won't progress to a relationship.
justagirlforever Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Besides a timely death or moving away, what are some other reasons? Something as simple as falling out of love. One can be devoted to death - but devotion on its own does not equate love.
magichands Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 To you, what are the 5 MOST important things in a relationship? (And in order, please) Great question. And it's a tough one for me to answer. Wait! That's it. Me, me, me, me, and me.
magichands Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Besides a timely death or Celebrating death is going a bit far.
Pyro Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Celebrating death is going a bit far. I know that I worded it wrong.
Kwo-ne'-she Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Love Loyalty to me Honesty Sense of humor sexual attraction
Pyro Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Something as simple as falling out of love. One can be devoted to death - but devotion on its own does not equate love. I always thought that part of devotion is the love that you have for that person, but you do make a good point, oh wise one and owner of a new mattress.
pricillia Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 understanding physical intamacy trust compassion fun(sense of humor)

If there's none of this to start with, it won't progress to a relationship. Oh can I amend / expand my list again - I'm really not asking for much here am I ? I'd like to add 6) Commitment - which extends to actively working on a relationship 7) Passion - extending to the wider sense that encompasses life in general Crikey, no wonder my relationships don't work. I'm clearly asking for too much
sb129 Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Love (including passion), respect (includes honesty, trust, fidelity - you can't respect someone you aren't honest with, trust, and faithful to), communication, and laughter. Honesty (which really means-no cheating) Respect (which includes devotion and.......no cheating) communication (and problem solving within relationship) sex (mutual attraction and the hot&sweaty kind) sense of humor (I appreciate the ability to laugh through the bs) I agree with these ones, when answering honestly. 1. the size of his willy. 2. how much stuff he buys me. 3. how rich he is. 4. which cars he owns. 5. whether he has good hair. :lmao: Great question. And it's a tough one for me to answer. Wait! That's it. Me, me, me, me, and me. :lmao: What about acceptance of your trunk?
