Learning a foreign language to impress foreign girls....

Well, I suppose I just had to start this thread. I've read about ideas about impressing girls by pretending to be more wealthy than you really are, or about pretending that you are married, and lying about both. Well, just thought I'd throw in yet another idea or gimmick, that I will play around with, which doesn't sound so bad after all.

Learn a foreign language, to have at least a working vocabulary with it, so you can have a basic conversation, and start travelling and hitting on foreign women.

I want to learn French, and have just started learning it, and plan to go to Quebec to talk to women in French. (Fortunately, English is a second dominant language in some parts of Quebec). Travel to a different place to go to a different world, different experience, different people, and different women.

Don't forget to learn how to say "Baby, I'm married and rich, need a sugar daddy?" in French.:lmao:

Do you really think that lying is going to impress anyone?

You might get a piece of a** for one night and end up paying a lot of money for that date, but long-term...I don't think you can find a decent girl that way.

Learning a foreign language is a good thing though - for you. You can never know enough languages.

Personally, I find foreign people who try to speak my language cute and respectful (because they at least try to explore a different culture).

Good luck with your French!

agree with this. learning a foreign language should be for you first, then most times other benefits seem to follow from it natuarlly anyway cause you're putting yourself out there and experiencing different situations.

good for you. go for it.

I was learning to speak French together with an x-boyfriend so we could travel to France together one day. I later found out he was learning Manderin and even going to classes at a school. It broke my heart, I felt he was seeing an Asian girl or trying to impress one or trying to meet one in class. He kept talking about the teacher and what she would tell him and I even suspected he had a thing for her.

My first response was I no longer wanted for us to learn French. I used the excuse that it would be too hard and time consuming for him to be learning two languages. It was really a test. He easily agreed not to, keep in mind this was an "our thing" activity and had meaning. Things went bad after that until it lead to our splitting up.

I never wanted to hear another French word but now I feel motivated to continuing studying it on my own for personal growth, maybe I'll impress a French man if I go to France by myself.

Here's another idea/gimmick for the Admiral and many other men who agree with these plots - Why don't you rent an expensive sports car? you'll meet a good looking gold digger.

Make sure they have the same car available at the lot every time you want to take her out...better yet you can pretend you have a whole fleet of cars. Then you can tell her the truth, cry on her shoulder one day and get more points.

I'm not sure what type of woman you expect to get if they are ok with these lies once they find out you've been deceiving them, but I truly think it would be a great match up to weed out all you types and the types of women who would be ok with you!

Isn't this the same super-mega-ultra-'christian' religious moralist guy who's preaching honour and the Ten Commandments to everyone else elsewhere?

I resemble that remark!;)

Although I consider the admiral to be trolling, I will say that learning a few foreign phrases does help break ice with most people.

It takes time, effort, and (some) brains. And the phrases are actually learned, so there's nothing fake about it.

That's absolutely right, there's nothing fake about a sincere: "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?" :lmao:

God scattered the languages of the earth since the tower of Babylon was constructed, when man foolishly thought he could built a tower reaching towards the heavens. As a result of this, there are many languages. So people got confused and could not continue building the tower.

One of those languages is French. It happens to be the second official language of my bi-lingual country. Why deny myself the opportunity to meet French women in Quebec?

So, why dont you contribute something meaningful to this thread rather than go and insult people?

Quit sidestepping, Admiral. Your *dark side* is beginning to show.

Smoochieface is crying sour grapes, that is what he is doing, because I'm going to marry a French woman, and he's not. HA!

I've looked at some online profiles of women in Quebec - and all I can say is viva France!

Oh bulls***! :D

Wow, you're already talking about marrying a French-Canadian woman and you don't even know the language yet. Talk about putting the cart way ahead of the horse... :p

Here's a phrase for you to learn as you may be hearing it from those French women when they discover the *real deal* about you: "Espece d'encule."

Wow...pretty hypocritical when someone professing such Christian values/morals/beliefs will form a devious plan such as this

Learning another language is great, and you know we're not saying otherwise. Learning another language with the intent to get frivolously laid or deceitfully hit on women is not, and you know that.....

we dont think very highly of hypocrites here. If you believe in something, whether its god, allah, wiccan, yourself, whatever, stick to it without transforming it into something completely different

Looks like everybody wants to jump on a band-wagon here. Fact is, you are hypocritical, because you want attention, and couldn't care less what the subject is about. Notice this was not a 'private message'. Look who is the hypocrite.

Devious plan? I do not understand 'frivolously laid' - I'm a virgin, remember?

My posts on other threads here are talking about 'hugging' not getting laid. If you people think it is abnormal for me to like the opposite sex because I'm a professing Christian, then I will say, there is nothing 'hypocritical' about that. People want to read further into my posts then what is actually there.

Let's end this nonesence once and for all by people who are trying to hijack this thread.

This thread's title is 'learning a foreign language to impress foreign girls'.

That is right, impress girls. If you impress a girl, you can do whatever you want if she is into you. You can hug her, you can play checkers with her (if she likes the game), you could play with skipping rope if you want, the sky is the limit. It does not necessary mean the most basest possible thing - but if that is how people here want to think, so be it.

I've never read any of your other posts, so I know nothing of this 'hugging' that you speak of. So, based on what you've just posted, I retract my 'getting laid' comment and apologize.

That said, it doesnt change the fact that your plan is deviously skewed.

Also, I could only be called a hypocrite for 'wanting attention' if I had said something similar to "I dont want attention"

Thats how hypocrisy works. You say or act or profess one thing, while living or performing another.

You know nothing about what I want or strive for on this board, or in my life. You dont know if I want attention or not. You probably dont know anything about my beliefs or values either, since I dont think I've ever stated them on this board. But if I have or ever DO say something or insinuate something, and then behave in a manner that suggests otherwise, THEN you can call me out on it....and I even expect/hope that you would

You won't really impress a foreign girl by learning the language unless you become flawlessly fluent and accent-free in it, which can take a long time. They'll just think you're faintly amusing.
