Does anyone date strictly according to astrology signs?

Recommended Posts

I’m not trying to get on people into astrology even though it’s not my thing but I’ve been on dates with women lately who say they only date signs that astrology says they’re compatible with.

To each his own but to me this is goofy as hell and limiting yourself. I frankly don’t understand that.

Does anyone here date strictly according to astrology signs?

yes, you can expect certain traits to be prominent in each sign, not easy to see when you first meet, so astrology weeds out the incompatible

So if you met someone and clicked early on but found out their sign wasn’t compatible with yours you’d break up with them?

I cannot convince you that certain traits appear, but that does not mean that they do not exist

When in my 20s, I dated too many guys who were supposed to be compatible astrologically and not one of them worked out that well, so no.

No, I don't screen-out men based on their astrological sign.

But I tell you what - there's something to it - looking back in hindsight.

For example, I am CRAZY about Sagittarius men! So positive and entertaining. They can have a cruel side though, that pops out unexpectedly every now & then.

I shy away from Virgo men after awhile (although I can be initially attracted to them) as they are so critical of EVERYTHING.

Gemini men are my Kryptonite... they're really bad for me but I fall for them so easily if I'm not really really careful.

Pisces men are aggravatingly "squishy" - changing direction too often.

Capricorn men are delicious... but they won't be faithful. And they'll hide it.

And so on.:D

Not me.

I find decision making based upon reality, more useful than using make believe nonsense.

Interesting that someone that processes so much love for Christian doctrine would give value to astrology.

I like reading astrology in the newspaper while drinking a Bloody Mary at brunch. That’s the extent of my interest.

They are useful in the sense that they can give you a sense of the "average personality" you might see, but you can't take them as written in stone of course. Astrological signs were invented when the stars were in a different place in the sky than they are today - so the namings of the various signs are technically meaningless.

Nope don't really believe there's much in it. But l think about every girl l ever met always looks it up and gave me all the goss.

Apparently l'm a good match for scorpio, don't think l ever knew one.

Got a mate in he's 50s that's right into it though, star signs and eye colour .

His love life and taste in women though is about the scariest thing l ever heard , l'd go jump of a cliff if l had to deal with the psychos he gets mixed up with so ahhh, not much of a reference l spose.

See this has never happened to me. I have never clicked with someone then find out the sign was "wrong". I don't ask people' signs, and I don't date strictly by astrology. I find out later, and sure enough, the people I ended up in a relationship with were always one of the compatible ones.

I consider it when someone tells me their sign but usually I can just figure it out myself if the tell me their birthday.

But if it’s what they identify themselves as then a big hell no because then that’s just weird.

My fiancé asked me nonchalantly, pretty early in our relationship, if our astrological signs were compatible.

Thankfully, looking at him like he was crazy and saying "Pfffffft" and then busting up laughing was the correct answer.

Astrology is garbage.

I don't specifically, but once I go on one or two date, whenever I find out their sign, I always look up our compatibility! It's fun to read and can add a funny topic discussion, although not too early on in the dating process.

I'm into astrology, and if you are, you actually know that someone's sign (sun sign, the most common thing we hear of when someone says they are a Taurus or Virgo etc) is only one facet. Astrology goes much deeper and natal charts tell about all the signs in different areas of life that makeup your person and gives a lot more information about a person. Example: sun signs are sort of your more superficial outer face, moon signs tell a lot about how you relate emotionally, Venus signs tell your disposition in relationships and love etc. Point is: I'm into it so I like to know these things as information.

I don't date only based on these, I date cause I like people and once I am getting to know them that info is like reconnaissance and further info to help me understand areas of compatibility and incompatibility, how they might see the world vs how I do, what they may favor vs what I do etc....all stuff you need to know for a relationship. But I don't simply know a sign and right off make decisions on that, it's more involved than that, and even when I get to the more involved part, it's like the whole dating point, you constantly get info and you let stuff play out and use what you learn to assess your compatibility or potentially avoid issues.

I don't believe in any of that stuff. No disrespect to anybody who does but what part of the year a person was born doesn't mean much. The calendar is a man made invention anyway so how can it affect a person's personality traits in some cosmic way?
