I am wondering how is dating going to be like in my late 30's?

I wanted to split from a long term, stagnant relationship. I think its time to move on. I would love to hear your experiences.

Take care.

I'll be 30 in a couple of years and it honestly scares me. Dating now is so much different then dating in high school and college. Not that easy IMO.

I'm a guy who started dating again just out of his 30's but dated a lot of women in their 30's... For me it rocked. Really enjoyed it. Far more straightforward than dating in my 20's. But (big caveat) I was only dating women who were done having kids. And when I didn't and ventured into the SNMNK territory it was a not fun experience.

My single female friends are kinda split that way too. Those with kids or divorcees are having fun. Those who don't have kids or have never been married are pretty over it when it comes to dating.

It was . . .odd & harder than dating in college / grad school. Back then there was a new interesting (or at least sexy) man around every corner. In my 30s they were harder to find.

Coming out of a 12 year relationship, I immediately hooked up with a guy I'd gone to HS with. We hadn't known each other then & I suppose part of the attraction was the familiarity. We shared a common background.

When that relationship ended 2+ years later I was basically single for about 2 years because finding a man I wanted to spend more than a few minutes with -- let alone a whole date -- was tough. Most of the men I met were too young (20s); couldn't hold my interest through an intelligent conversation; had questionable backgrounds (alcoholics, jail, drugs etc); thought I was too high maintenance (not saying they were completely wrong); had too many baby mammas for my tastes; or just didn't do it for me. I tried OLD. Of the 3 dates I had, if I'd met them IRL rather than on a site I would never have accepted the dates. They were perfectly nice, normal guys but didn't make my motor run. I met a few still hung up on their EXs. I met a few workaholics. Finally I met DH at a networking function I attended trying to drum up business for my company.

I will recommend you do a variety of things to meet new people. It's just not as easy as it was last time.

As a guy [not, despite a desire to] dating in his thirties, I can only say it's been awful. Quiet, empty, and lonely.

I figured women would be more serious and interested in men with their proverbial s__t together at this point with age coming up on them, but I dated much, much, much more in my twenties... and the only women that are outgoing with me these days are still in their twenties... and that's not what I really want.

Frankly, I don't get it. I guess I'm just lacking what women in this age group are looking for. :-(
