Briding the gap between co-workers alongside romantic intentions?

Recommended Posts

Im working in an office environment where the floor spans above and below me and is wide as well...as different departments of the company is divided into sections on the floor. Regardless there are no cubicles, and everyone's workspace is open, even the supervisor.

I see a lot of attractive women go back and forth from my workspace, unfortunately i dont work with them so its hard to greet them. And the women that do work in my area are unattractive or just old.

There is one that I work with on occassion. I recall a few weeks ago, i came back from lunch and me, her, and another female co-worker I've worked with (but they work together very frequently) rode the elevator up. I started a friendly chat on the way up, and I tried including both of them in the convo. The other girl actually chatted with me and made the effort. The other one just clammed up/was quiet the whole time.

So i guess today we're working together (sort of, she needs files/ print outs from me). She's usually running around the floor so wrote down her cell # and told me to contact her when the stuff is ready - and this is when i just told her it was about done. She asked me if i could read her scribble and i could, so i put it on the table. The stuff was completed and I gave her the work...so she walked ahead of me and glanced back to see if i took the paper with her #. Of course i didnt, no reason to come off creepy - for all i know maybe she wanted me to have her # (aside from work purposes). But that doesnt mean given the circumstances I wouldnt deny a chance of dating her if i knew she was interested. Unfortunately I know nothing personal about her as she always seems occupied with work and seems cold or unwilling to talk to people.

with such a huge floor, it is hard to meet women since I rarely get a chance to come in proximity with them. Does anyone have any experience in this work environment or can give me pointers?
