He recently broke up with his girlfriend and we ended up kissing. He's been pretty much avoiding me ever since. What do I do to keep the friendship? He just recently ended a relationship and his friend had crossed the friend line and that can lead to a flush of varying emotions and he's not entirely sure how to digest it. Perhaps the best thing to do is to ask him how he felt about it and if it was confusing to him, let him know either way.
