I need some advice.

I will be moving in with my bf (we're in an LDR right now) within the next 6 months. We plan on getting engaged prior to that.

Now my question is, I am currently looking for a new car. I have a bad credit (I was young and stupid, and am now financially responsible) and will need a co-signer so I can get a good deal. I know I can always have my dad to co-sign it for me. But since I will be moving in with my bf, and since he offered to co-sign it for me, should I co-sign it with him or with my dad?

Help.

I would say co-sign with your father, he will always be there. You NEVER know what may happen with the bf.

The man I thought I would spend forever with, and loved me with all his heart just broke up with me.

Trust me, you never know. NOT saying that you two will break up, because I have no idea... but your dad will always be there for you.

I'm not trying to send negative vibes, but your dad will always be around and there is always that possibility your BF could just up and leave. I say go with your pops.

I agree with the posters before me. Pops.

In addition, if you're planning on getting engaged to your BF, you REALLY need to cough up your credit history to him (assuming he doesn't already know) because your score will affect his once you're married.

Dad, definitely. There are so many reasons why family is better.

Have your Dad do it. That way if things don't work out with your bf and you, then you don't have that hanging over your head.

Definately go with your Dad...even if things work PERFECTLY with your boyfriend it is still safer say if for some reason you cant afford payments, you'll feel more guilt and i think all around would just feel worse if it was your boyfriend. Dad's (SOMETIMES) have a tendency to help their daughters out!

No matter what the situation with you, if your dad is willing, ask him.

your dad, if things go wrong with you two then you can make a much cleaner break from him then if you have him cosign.

Thank you all for the replies. You all said the same thing. So that speaks volumes. I guess I will co-sign with my dad.
