chill chic Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 This guy & I have been talking for awhile, like everyday, and actually hitting it off quite well. He's everything that I'd want in a guy, and he's always there for me. BUT the only bad part is that we've met over the net. He lives in NY and I live close to Chicago. So...we were planning to meet up, except that he doesn't like to fly. And I'd rather not fly myself all the way to NY, because me being the girl, is kinda scary I guess, even though I do trust him & everything. So is that out of question that I make him travel here? And what if he puts up a wall that he doesn't want to sorta thing? I mean he hasn't yet, I mentioned it to him, and I could tell he was kinda hesitant, but he didn't exactly disagree, but he's not saying yes for sure yet. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this?

The risk is just too great for me to risk myself in any way shape or form. And the way I have always been with dating - the man is lucky to have met me, and have the chance to get to know me better for a possible relationship. If he doesn't want to put in whatever effort he has to - his loss.

And Stara Gazer...you're right, it's not that he's everything I want, because like you said, I've never met him in person, and that can definitely change things. That's why we're taking things rather slow, but so far so good is what I meant. I just didn't know how odd it is to meet someone that you've met online kinda thing. I mean I know about match.com kinda stuff, which is not where I met him from, but I guess it's more common than I think.
