I'm 4'11 and my boyfriend is 6'7. We don't really care what we 'look' like but my mother thinks it looks ridiculous and is a big issue. Is it really? I'm a bit paranoid that people who look at us in public would laugh at the way we look, makes me feel a bit strange.

What do you think about major height differences, would it affect your choice of partners?

No I don't think it's rediculous. So what if people talk, let them. Your heights have nothing to do with the realtionship. If you two don't mind it then don't worry about it.

Huh? I think if you like him then who cares about the height difference? I think it sounds cute, myself. If you end up getting married and your mother is worried about the wedding photos then they can be altered in Photoshop, or you can stand on a box with your dress draping over it and no one will know the difference, like Tom Cruise and what's her name did (tho he didn't wear a dress).

Tell her to go to hell, or put her in her place in your preferred fashion. It ain't her relationship, so it's not her place to make it an issue.

You love who you love! Superficial details like that be damned.

One of my ex boyfriends was your boyfriend's height and I'm only a few inches taller than you. I understand how you feel, it did feel kinda funny but who cares. It's so not important. People aren't laughing at you, I promise!

he must split you in half like an axe through a log

yeah, you say that, but if you were like 5'5 i'd bet you wouldn't even consider someone under 5'10

Actually, I'm 5'7 and I've dated plenty of guys that are much shorter than me. It really doesn't matter. People will find fault in any relationship if you let them.

Holy ****, dude. He's really tall! Haha, how cute.

That's all that matters.

People will always have opinions whether you ask for them or not. You should only care for their opinion, in regards to personal matters such as this one, if you ask for it. If you don't, then pay no attention to that others have to say about you and your personal life.

I'm 5'2" and I personally wouldn't date anyone who is over 5'10" because I simply wouldn't be comfortable putting so much strain on my neck all of the time.

But that's just a personal preference, though.

Don't let other people's opinions affect your relationship, especially when it involves cosmetic or physical differences.

I'm short too. A little under 5'3". Most guys I've dated or been in a relationship with have been 6' or over, even up to 6' 8". What can I say? I'm a sucker for a tall guy. ;)

I'm the same as Trialbyfire.

I'm about 5'3 and love really tall guys. I think you two sound like a cute couple. =]] And you two aren't affected by the height so just be happy and content and screw what other people think.
