moonmama Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Anyone else doin' it? I first saw it on our local news channel http://www.simpledefeat.citymaker.com/page/page/4164492.htm and then read the reviews on the WAHM board http://www.wahm.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=140620&KW=ear+stapling and decided to go for it 6 weeks ago. Here's positive and negatives that I've experienced. It hurt the first time. My ear got sore because I didn't clean it for a few days and had it taken out and repositioned. The second time I cleaned it twice a day and didn't touch it at all. It's been fine ever since I began cleaning it correctly. I've lost 15 lbs. Back into size 7 pants:) and feel terrific! I didn't think it worked the first night because I was really hungry, but then I'd go to eat and felt stuffed if I ate too much. I can't even think about eating chocolate, candy or sweets because I get sick of the thought. My advice is to have it done by a professional who uses aseptic technique. I've heard there are people doing it just for the money and the infection rate is higher that way. But, with my experience, and my friends who have now had it done. None of us have gotten infected ears with proper ear care. I think it's the ones who get lazy with cleaning like me (at first) who get sore ears. This isn't magic, but it's the best tool for weight loss I've used that didn't involve starving myself or a pill. Thumbs up so far. Will keep you updated.
polywog Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 That's interresting. Years ago I had a doctor who was practicing both conventional and alternative medicine use ear staples on me for something else, and I was impressed that it worked. I haven't thought of it since this post, but I would take it seriously. It's like reflexology & shiatsu, people need to make sure they're seeing a specialist.
