Ok, I should have seen this one coming.

My ex wife comes by today to pick up our daughter. She is scheduled to be with her all week. You know where this is going, "Hey, since you aren't doing anything, can she stay with you Wednesday night? I have a certificate for a free night at a new hotel downtown."

Not really upset at her, just made me realize I am now officially known as the single, with no plans guy.

Thats so true, however, she is 14 going on 21 so she will not be interacting much with Dad anyhow.

Just to clarify, the ex wife is not who sent me here. We have been divorced for over 3 years and get along great. We were always better friends than lovers to begin with.

All the more reason to treasure this valentines... you won't be cool again for another 10 years... lol...

Although my dad is still a dork... I love him, the dork that he is

Thanks GG,

I don't think I have been too cool for the last couple of years. Unless she needs money or a ride to the mall, lol!!!!!!

Why don't you start a new father/daughter tradition and take her out for Valentine's Day? I'll bet she'd get a kick out of dressing up and going to a nice restaurant like a grown-up...even if it is with dad.

Definitely!

Take her out to a nice restaurant and order some indulgent foods! Even at 14, I would have liked doing that with my dad.
