serial muse Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 its not "maybe"....I am right yes, i'm sorry i doubted you, mr. A. riddler, by "schmoopy" i meant basically embracing cuteness, with pet names and cards with little bears holding heart-shaped balloons, and so forth. i think it works best if both partners enjoy a similar level of schmoopiness. there are lots of schmoopy guys - i have an ex who probably would have enjoyed the idea of giving me a vermont bear (far more than i would have enjoyed getting it). as for the team memorabilia - that's a whole other ball game! yuk yuk.

I love candies with balloons and bears attached. I love anyone who does that. <---These are cute too. Your avatar is cute too. They look hugable.
guin_girl Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I would prefer an Antarctica Penguin personally... but then again, I have a whole house of penguins now. Good thing kitty likes to carry them around by their flippers and throw them up in the air... I don't have to buy him toys...

I personally am not one for stuff like that. I prefer to be surprised by my favorite candies or something else that I would enjoy, but my GF enjoys that stuff to a certain degree, so I have no trouble surprising her with gifts like that. I wouldn't mind a penguin as a gift.

Yeah - I think a lot of the reason I'd be vaguely disappointed if I got a bear as a gift is because it just would suggest my partner doesn't really get me - like you, I'd rather get my favorite candies or something that shows he knows who I am. But I agree with you - if I knew my partner liked bears, I would certainly get one for him, to please him. (I know for a fact that my current BF, however, would be pretty ticked if he unwrapped that. ) it's all about it being personal.
