I am tired of sorting through the crap of lies that men put out there.

I am disgusted by the facade of committment and virtue that guys have the first month you know them... and then it all goes to hell.

Last week I met a guy I really liked on a dating website, felt so drawn to him because he said his wife and 3 kids were killed in a car accident 5 years ago. We talked for probably 6 hours a night for 3 or 4 nights. He was intelligent, successful, handsome, funny, and gave me a million compliments. Our personalities clicked and i had so much hope. For the first time in a long time, I jumped out of bed feeling like I had a life to look forward to. I could see the possibilities. I even realized I can be a funny person and I am not all that bad looking.

THEN... (you knew it was coming...) ...

i got a weird vibe. Can't even pinpoint where it started. but i started doubting who the guy really was. I mean how can a guy that great be looking for girls on the Internet. He wanted to meet me in 3 weeks. The next thing I know, I can't find him in any database or any mention of the accident in any newspaper archives (i have VERY good sources, the best..). When i probed for more answers, suddenly he says he will send me their death certificates and a funeral pamphlet!

I asked him for the name of his company. He ignored the request until I asked him again the next day. He gave the name and a website. I called the company and searched for his name in the phone directory. NOT THERE. I had him thrown off the dating website. He does NOT exist. When I caught him, I told him and he never wrote again.

Until 2 days ago. It's another profile, but I KNOW it's him... or is it? Now I trust no one. I don't even want to meet anyone anymore. How can I sort through the good and the crap? I am SICK OF IT!

anyway, hope you all got a good laugh at least. Wonder what the guy was up to? kidnapping, murder, rape, identity theft - WHAT?

HEY! I've been telling you this for MONTHS!!! :)

i got a weird vibe.

Sad to say, but online, that should be enough for you to stay away. You know what they say about gut instincts....

Sweetie, we've had many laughs at your escapades (need a light?)....but.... your safety and happiness is of utmost importance..... :)

Besides, I need you! You are one of a VERY select few I actually feel comfortable crying to. :) And Lord knows, I've done my share of that since I've known you............. :o

You'll find the right guy. Online, at a party, in a NYC karaoke club  , somewhere... and you'll KNOW in your heart, mind, and other wonderful parts that's he's the one.

Love you! :)

***i'm not drawn to death either. I read this string strand (what the hell is it called) thingy again and realize how that sounded. I just mean I have a habit of falling for guys I feel sorry for. I'm the "fix-em up" girl

And yet another Rod Serling "Match" moment. Amazing how the great sage Dr. Phil is now their spokesperson.

Seriously, when something seems to good to be true, it usually is....

Good luck in your travels, life's a real bad beat at times, luckily sooner or later you'll pick up aces.

You trusted your instincts...and were right. I wouldn't make too big a deal out of it, you can cross paths with the same type of person anywhere only the internet gives these "types" a better chance of promoting their alter (read: scre#@d up) personalities.

What was he looking for...an unsuspecting person to prey on and in this case he LOST? Sorry for the trauma but congratulations goes to your intuitions and intelligence.
