Eh, I'm over it. I wasn't really all that interested in the first place.

uh huh...thats why you felt sooo compelled to come in here and ask about it.

Do you often engage in exercises in futility?

Um, I posted this thread almost two weeks ago. That's plenty of time to move on from someone I've never even been out with. Sheesh. :p

What does that have to do with the FACT that you said you weren't interested in him "IN THE FIRST PLACE".

Between this post and the ones where you say you date several men at one time...I think you just want everyone here to think you are some kind of hottie.

don't break your arm patting yourself on the back.....it takes 6 to 8 weeks to heal.

1. I wasn't interested in him IN THE FIRST PLACE, I was simply puzzled by the fact he used every other medium imaginable to ask me out other than the phone. I miss how people used to use the phone. In this techno-driven era, I'm saddened that person-to-person romance has been taken over by texts, emails, etc.

2. I AM a hottie.

3. There's nothing even to get over/heal from, dude. We never even went out...

I think you're the one making this a much bigger deal than it ever was. I was curious, nothing more. :p

Hey wats wrong wit not using the phone 4 contact....

Ive always phone texted/messaged women, coz its easier.

Also its not as bad as getting rejected a date by txt, as it is over the phone by voice... (get lost u loser) lol  .

(not that ive evr been rejected  )

Plus its easier as u dont really know that person that well and get nervous to wat to say on the phone, shyness. :bunny:

The way you write above is exactly what's wrong with communicating via text/email in the dating context. Would you actually speak like that to a woman, without even putting in a TINY bit more effort to add the "h" to "what"? Or the "e" to "text"? Or the "y" and "o" to "you"?

It's pure LAZINESS.

And yes, it demonstrates to me that a guy doesn't have the cajones to pick up the phone and take a RISK. Texting/emailing is always the easy way out.

Now, don't get me wrong - I text message like it's my job - with friends and SO's ONCE A RELATIONSHIP IS ALREADY FORMED, and never ever ever about anything remotely important.

This is interesting as I've sen it come up a few times. Can anybody answer me why there's this link between a guy having to take a risk and the and girl finding him attractive? It's like, if he's hot and doesn't take the risk then he won't be considered, and if he's average looking and does take the risk he will be considered.

You ladies have to acknowledge though that if a guy is the one always facing the risk of rejection, there are days when sometimes your confidence isn't as high as normal (we are human too) as some girl you liked has turned you down. So sometimes, we may cast a glance your way but not come over, as we need some "recovery time". However, if we caught you're eye, if you passed by, smiled and said hi, that'd be the boost we need to come on over. It has to be a two-way street. You can't just stand there and hope for the best. (Am I diversing into another thread here?

Oh, and one last point. Practice makes perfect. The guys who approach you without any hint of a being slightly nervous/shy are usually the ones who approach a lot of women (I'm not saying all) and so tend to be the "love 'em and leave 'em" type. Bear that in mind.

In fact, if he calls, the woman is out having fun and probably won't answer so you'll have to call again to catch this fun, special woman. NEXT if he is too wimpy to make an effort to call me, he just wasn't into me anyway, and I don't want a guy who just isn't into mt..

Someone said before in this thread that if he doesnt call he's not interested, period. However, here you say that if a guy calls and gets no response, it doesn't mean the girl isn't interested. Therefore, if I call a girl and she doesn't respond, she is either not responding because she is interested or not responding becasue she isn't interested. Seriously, this is confusing. What do I do next? Do I call again and be seen to be making the effort, or do I not call again so I don't look like a stalker. (It's like that thing with a cat in a box and radioactive stuff and it's both alive and dead at the same time - anyone know what I'm talkin about?!?!??!)

I think this is one of the reasons why I'm single!

If I were to be cynical, I could say that girls insist the guy phones because she then avoids the risk of rejection (but disrespects a guy who tries to do the same) and has guys phoning her frequently which makes her feel good about herself.

I'm not the cynical type, and I don't want to be, so can anybody disprove that last paragraph for me?

Thanks

Will people who have actually been in a long term relationship say longer then 5 years please raise your hand?

5 years in a marriage here.. a 4 year live in relationship and a bunch of relationships just under or over a year.

Nothing is guaranteed.. My Aunt and Uncle divorced after 33 years of marriage while my Grandma and Grandpa made it 68 years before my GP passed away.

My own parents even made it 16 years of marriage before divorce..

so nothing is forever..
