I've been dating my BF for 7mths. Everything is great. He told me at the begining of the relationship that he use to be in a rock band as a teen and that he was the lead singer. They use to do gigs a lot and he just loved it. He said he would love to start singing again..not so much in a band..but to me. Of course I thought that was so sweet:)

Over the last few mths while we would park and have the radio on..he would sing quietly (he was very shy about it) to me while cuddling. It was kinda hard to tell but he didn't sound too bad at all.

Well last night was the first time he decided he will sing aloud to me cause he has to get over his fear. Only problem was that the radio konked out in his car so he brought along his personal music player and headphones. He was excited because he said he has been practicing real hard. So he put his headphones on and started to sing a love song.

I was shocked when he started singing.. OMG it took everything in me to not to start laughing. I was very nervous ( I had to keep a straight face while looking him in the eyes) His voice was busted up, whiny, and totally not in key the whole way thru. Then he got real loud on the high parts...and I lost it. I had to pretend my foot was itchy cause I couldn't help but to laugh..more of a nervous laugh. He didn't see me laughing..thank goodness!

I don't care if he can't sing..it's the beautiful thought that he wants to sing to me that counts. After he was done he asked how he did..I lied and said it was good..I know big mistake..right? He is very sensitive..and there is no way I could tell him the truth. I don't want it coming from me. In a fun, gentle way I told him "you should tape yourself then you can learn from listening to the tape on what you can improve on"

If he tapes himself will he be able to hear his not so good singing? Or will it sound good to him? I know when I was younger me and my friend taped ourselves and realized real quick that I couldn't sing..LOL Also do you think it sounded bad because he was wearing his headphones?
