yhan_627 Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 i haven't seen my boyfriend since may 2006 because my family and i immigrated to canada. these year we will be getting married. i can say that my love for him didn't change. i feel like i love him more. and the more our love becomes stronger. i think it is hard at first but then if you really love each other and your both willing to work for it. it is going to work. if we haven't broken up before we may not be a strong right now to be able to do this. cause when we broke up that's when we realized how much we mean to each other. and whatever happens we will find our way back to each other. i learned to trust him. trust is the key to our success in our relationship. cause if we didn't trust each other we will nagging each other about who were with, where we are, what we are doing, etc. Continouos communication also helped us a lot. and memories. i always think about our times together and what it will be in the future. i imagined what we will do if we're together again and just simple thought makes me happy. i even played the sims. i pretend that we are my sims. that's how i get through this. Be optimistic about life. i always think that someday we will be together again. i know that after all this hardships we will be together and we will go through life together. i hope and wish that other people like me whose dealing with long distance relationship be as happy as me.
BohemeRose Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 i even played the sims. i pretend that we are my sims. that's how i get through this. I do that too! I'm glad I'm not the only one, now I don't feel so silly. I haven't seen my boyfriend since July 2006. Trust has definately been a big part in getting us through the distance. (He's in Canada, I'm in the US...I'll be moving up there when I finish school) It's nice to see a post about being happy in an LDR for once. I think we forget about what love can come out of it, sometimes.
Author yhan_627 Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Wow. Now i am sure that i am not crazy. i am not the only person who plays sims to help me go through my LDR.
BohemeRose Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Haha, it seems this has become a Sims enthusiast thread My favorite is when I'm playing it when I'm on the phone with my boyfriend, and say something like "Oh, honey! We have kittens now!" and I can just visualize him shaking his head as he laughs at me, lol. Anyway, the important thing is to do what you can to get by and focus on the future you're going to have together. Even if it is playing god with little pixilated people that helps you make it through the day XD
