I thought this was a fun/interesting/easy to read article about how love works(scientifically speaking) that I wanted to share. I'm from the thought that love and relationships are complicated things that have many factors that influence us and our behavior. Ever say to yourself 'what the heck was I thinking?' when it comes to love? Well maybe chemicals were part of it... enjoy...

If you've ever been in love, you've probably at least considered classifying the feeling as an addiction. And guess what: You were right. As it turns out, scientists are discovering that the same chemical process that takes place with addiction takes place when we fall in love.

Love is a chemical state of mind that's part of our genes and influenced by our upbringing. We are wired for romance in part because we are supposed to be loving parents who care diligently for our helpless babies.

In this article, we'll find out what love really is and what happens in our bodies that makes us fall in love -- and ensures we stay there. We'll also look at what attracts us to someone in the first place. Is it their pheromones, or do they just fit the right "love template?"

that is a very good, easy to read article! I found a few things like this to show my WS when he told me he didn't understand why he felt this emotion for the OW. he wasn't amused though. I think OW likes to tell him it is more spiritual, like soulmate stuff.

well i guess you could use information like that to boost either sides point of view.

one interesting thing i have read while researching things is that there is theory out there now that links divorce to women that started dating the person they married when they were on the pill. Apparently, the pheromones play a large part in our selection of mates (according to some). The pill changes the way women smell and their pheromones. When they stop taking it their pheromones are alterred and their sense of smell returns to normal.

It is very common for people to say that the just couldn't stand the way their divorced spouse smelled any more..

who knows.. but again one ingredient to the slew of factors that cause divorces and people to become stuck in affairs.
