VinaAmez Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Ha, ha! Yeah, you're not the first person to ever tell me that. By the way, welcome to LS! To be honest I was hoping that you knew it wasn't a word. Yes there are those who use this word daily. Drives me nuts. That and the "saw" and "seen" usage. After I posted that I thought "crap she probably thinks it's a word and I just insulted her." Then I was like "oh well she needs to know."

No, I'm a stickler for good grammar, although I'm sure mine is not always perfect. But you made me laugh. Some people really DO need to know.

That and the "saw" and "seen" usage. What about don't and doesn't, and brought and brung? I hate it when people use them the wrong way.
Touche Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 What about don't and doesn't, and brought and brung? I hate it when people use them the wrong way. And what about this one that I just seen ( ) on LS today: Boughten instead of had bought or just brought. Where did THAT one come from?
whichwayisup Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Is brung a word?? My fave is when some say imput when actually meaning INput.
Pyro Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 And what about this one that I just seen ( ) on LS today: Boughten instead of had bought or just brought. Where did THAT one come from? Never heard of boughten before. WWIU: brung is not a word, but I have dealt with some real geniuses in the past. They are so smart that they come up with their own words. Regardless and irregardless, that one makes me cringe.
VinaAmez Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Proper English people! It's not hard. And what the hell is boughten. I understand it's a branch of a tree but why would you add "ten." What does this mean?? And yes "brung" is not a word "I brung something" lol!! Kind of like "I seen it" lol!!
