emmaUK Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 do u think that if someone lies alot to freinds/lover/family to make thier life easier and less hassle.... that they will always be that way and they can never ever stop lying??? if the person has admitted they lie here n there to make thier life easier and know they have a problem and want to start being honest... do u think they can ever change or do u think because they have done it for so long that they jus can never ever break the habit and the next time a possible stressfull thing comes up.. they'l be back to telling a white lie to save themselves some hassle. and im not talking about me by the way... i hate lies and liars
laRubiaBonita Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 unless the person decides to stop lying, obviously, or gets caught and has to fess up.... then no, i think once a liar always one. lying is a snowball on a very steep hill.... once you lie it is almost inevitable that another lie will be needed to cover the previous one, and so on. but you said this person has admitted to lying and also wants to stop. in this case you will just have to take actions over words and throw in a little trust unless they prove otherwise.
LaughMachine Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Well atleast this person admits to lying to making their life easier. But all in all what kind of character does this person show? Not alot of character at all, I'll tell you that. If this person can't, on their own will see the damage of their lies than they most likely won't try to change them. I guess not all liars are sociopathic people with out guilt or shame so It is a tricky question. Some people lie to people they rarely know, which is what majority people do. On the other hand, lying to family and friends/lovers is a big no no. I woulden't invest alot of hope in thinking this person could stop their lying.
