Sure, the baby will be a reminder for you for the rest of your life, but it becomes a dim memory. That's what my mom says too, I never knew my dad- she raised me on her own without any child support. She doesn't think of him when she sees me, she thinks of how I am her daughter, that's it. Same situation here. My mom never thought of me as a reminder of my dad (who I never knew). She saw me as her child.
