insomnie Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 My bf plays this video game very obsessively and he's very good at it. He travels around the country going to tournaments very regulalry and plays with his friends for several hours several times a week. After three years, I am finally meeting his friends this Friday. I'm coming to one of their get-togethers and I'm incredibly nervous. I mean, it'll be a bunch of guys, all close friends of his, whom I have never met, playing a game I really suck at. I almsot want to back out right now, but lately I've been bothered by the fact that I've never met these people, since they are obviosuly important to him...and these kinds of get-togethers are how they spend their time. A LOT of their time. So, any advice? I am just feeling almost nauseous thinking about how awkward it's gonna be. I'm afraid they're all gonna think wtf is she doing here. Most of them don't even I exist.
dgiirl Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 guys, games, you'll have no problem whatsoever! I use to be heavily part of the gaming community and the majority of the guys are geeks who get all flustered around girls. The majority of the guys are very sweet and excited to be talking to a girl, they'll be overly friendly and try to help whenever they can. Dont fret it! Go have fun and kick some ass
