I have an interesting question...

I am a virgin, and I was talking to a friend I know- she was telling me that it always hurts when she is having sex- she tells me her friends are the same.. a sort of "stabbing" pain.. they say its hard to describe.. they say everytime it hurts, and if they don't have sex for awhile (a few days), it hurts even more. They say it hurts less if he is gentle, but ... it still hurts a little. One of her friends "just wants it to be over" because it hurts a lot.

WHAT??

I asked, are you using enough lubricant? is he too well endowed? is she tiny?? are there any infections? STDS? why the pain? since they are not new at this... i ruled out that the hymen is still giving them pain.. could it be? She told me it is none of those reasons, it just hurts.

I'm sure other men would be curious, especially if it is true, men who do not realize this is how their SO could be feeling?

Could someone please enlighten me? Is she just scaring me to make me be super gentle for my first time? It would be nice to understand this, at least to make sure nothing is wrong with my friends.

This was a serious question.

I hope it didn't get mistaken for trolling/spam or something... Did I post it in the wrong forum?

There is a forum for sex questions...Sex and Reproductive Practices.

But, in any case, the stabbing pain could be if the penis is hitting the cervix. The cervix is in the back of the vagina, so it wouldn't be an all over kind of pain. If the pain is only when he thrusts hard and reaches the end of her vagina, that's probably it.

There is also a condition called vaginismus. The PC muscles (the ones you use to stop the flow of urine) can tighten up by themselves and prevent penetration or make it very painful. It's reflex, and it varies in degree. It's odd that a number of your friends would have this condition, though.
