Agent M Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I have a best friend from college that i recently reconnected with. Come to find out, she had a cancerous tumor in her heart. She was successfully operated on, but then went into chemo for a while. We had been emailing back and forth about once a month. I sent her a care package at one pt. and she immed. sent me a long email and thank you. I remembered when her b/day was (about a month and a half after the first package) and sent her a book, a card, and a long, really nice email. Well, then I never heard anything back. Nothing. I waited a month and a half, and she sent a mass Merry Christmas email to everyone. A few days later I sent her a reply, wished her well, and asked if she ever received the present I sent her. No reply. Since I have sent her a few, funny Fwd. emails, and a picture of me drumming in concert. No replies. The last email I sent was about a month ago. Do you think I should try one more time, with a personal email?? What do you think is going on? Her chemo should be just over now. Thanks!!
whichwayisup Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 One thing about cancer - It's all about her so don't take ANYTHING personally. It knocks you out so bad, in all honesty she probably couldn't give a crap about anything else that is going on, even someone else's nice gestures...I don't mean that in a bad way, it just is how most are with cancer, and going through treatment. She is thinking of ya since she sent out a Xmas note. Send her a hello note, hope that she's doing well. Don't mention the present, I'm sure she got it!
Author Agent M Posted January 23, 2007 Author Posted January 23, 2007 Thanks! Great advice...I feel better.
