I snore. I wish I didn't. A few questions:

how much does it bother you if your partner snores?

Guys, is it a turn off?

Anything I can do to not snore? I already exercise regularly, my weight is healthy and I don't drink alcool frequently.

If I am tired it doesn't bug me that my husband snores...But most nights, he falls asleep first, then snores. I try my best NOT to let it get to me, so I get creative...Push him, shove him, roll him over without wakin' him so he'll stop snoring. Sometimes I just tell him to ROLL and he does, other times he's quiet as a mouse...I don't know...But I accept it. Choices are we sleep in separate rooms or I cut his nose off! LOL!

Get those Oxygen strips that you can put across your nose. See your Dr and find out some other solutions. It could just be stress related, the position you're sleeping in or your adnoids could be taken out. Make sure it's not sleep apnea, that can be serious!

Oh, if it IS positional snoring, do NOT sleep on your back!

It's pretty hard for me to fall asleep if my partner is snoring. One guy used to sleep with a hand towel or washcloth over his nose - for some reason, that cut down on the snoring.

If nothing works for you, make sure you have a supply of earplugs to hand out to your mates!

I don't handle snoring very well. If I wake up and he's snoring, I can't get back to sleep. Have to wake him up and let him know about it.

Now me on the other hand I'm dangerous. I snore (not loud), talk, sleep walk, throw/hit things, etc... I can even use the bathroom while sleeping, watch TV, and for some reason I never seem to wake up with what I went to sleep in. I always take things off.

Just the other night I hit the wall so hard it woke my H up. Poor guy. It's like he has to wear battle gear while in bed with me.

I routinely sleep through earthquakes. I don't like it when people steal the covers, though.

Me too.

I can sleep through storms, trains, etc... But the smallest thing like a door or someone talking will wake me up.

Oh and the cover thing. I know all about that. We have 4 blankets on our bed and you'd think that he could share. I like to wrap myself in them and it's hard to do that with someone wanting the other half.

Or if I get my way he waits until it' warm underneath comes in, lets all the hot air out, and the cold draft in.:mad: I'm such a cover hog.

Well I am seeing someone new and you know, hopefully I'll invite him to sleep over soon . Don't want to traumatize him with my sonic sleeping habits.

I wouldn't say it's a turn off. I'd say it's more of a bother when you're trying to sleep in the same bed together.

As long as she doesn't start snoring when we're doing it then it isn't a turn off.

Seriously though I've started snoring myself, not sure if it's because of my weight gain or the medication I'm on, but I've found that sometimes when I'm falling asleep I'll start to snore loudly, and as soon as I do the noise scares me and wakes me up (because you don't realise it's you at first) if that makes any sense.

Yes that's happened to me too! It usually happens when I'm really really tired.

Seriously, I don't remember what prompted me to start this thread years ago. Although I can still relate to it. The fact I snore always makes me feel self-conscious at the beginning of an R. To the point where I actually feel the need to "reveal" it to the guy I'm seeing before we spend a night together.

So my new guy and I are planning a sleep-over this weekend . I told him: "Well you have to know that I snore". Cracked him up. Says he thinks he snores too. Guess we'll be a snoring duet.

I think the main problem people will have with snoring isn't that it's a turn off, but that it keeps them awake.
