Well for those of you who were encouraging me to see my attorney, everything blew up the other day. Long story short we are fueding horribly and he is trying to hold my wages over my head, creating a horrible work environment. I contacted my attorney and have an appointment early this week....here is an example of one of his emails...I had requested copies of all the bank records and a current printout of the bank account, and this is how he responded -

BySaturday January 20, 2007 5:00PM I need the following scanned or faxed to me:

1. A report QB's showing every transaction in the Wells Fargo account since it opened. You should only need to update the last week since you were here. Then you can print it out. I will be at the office tomorrow on a conference call between 10 and 11 but available after that to give you directions on how to pull the report if you can't figure it out.

2. I also need copies of all bank statements from Wells Fargo since it opened and an online printout from the website for Wells fargo since the last bank statement through tomorrow

Not a reasonable request. I will provide all that to you if you are in the process of making an offer to buy me out. I do not see why you need all that information when I have recently brought you up to date.

As the President of TEAM3, this is definately not an unreasonable request. Your attempt to not provide me this information is just another attempt to keep me in the dark. And by the way my attorney is going to love your refusal to provide this information. This email is being forwarded to him as well.

That is fine.

And I am requesting all outstanding invoices. current checks received and in your procession. and current work you are doing etc etc.

We both can play this game. Is it really necessary?

I have no problems providing this information, will be done by the end of business tomorrow.

Sultrybabe,

I'm glad you got an attorney. Your MM has certainly become difficult.

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this.

Frankly, I am just insulted for you! What does this/ he mean "if you can't figure it out?"

Girl, that is just demeaning! So glad you have found indepedent help via an attorney and don't let this wear you down.

Stay strong and take care of yourself!

if i haven't read your previous posts, i would have thought these are simply email conversations between two partners who do not see eye to eye to each other.... which could happen to any company. he does point out "I will provide all that to you if you are in the process of making an offer to buy me out" this is to my surprise as i thought he would not want to be bought out in any case. as you have consulted your attorney for legal advise, i hope you two have come up with scenarios and workable solutions that's going to help both you and your business.

my guess is that you are probably confused about his intention and his giving you a hard time handling your/his business. you have trusted him so much that you let him become the major shareholder of your business. and now he's making things difficult for you. he's probably thinking about the same thing - but that we won't know. maybe it's better that you sort this out first? it's never easy for business partners who are romantically involved when things go wrong... i hope you are still doing well so far and let the forum members know what kind of support and opinions that you are seeking here

Er, it was Rebecca that wrote that bit. Maybe he was the one who was insulted and maybe that's the reason for ensuing conflict? ;)

Actually that wasn't an insult he is fairly new with the program and I had just taught him payroll a few weeks before. These may seem like normal emails between bickering partners but they aren't.

Regarding buying him out, he put that in there to get at me. He would never willingly leave the business, then he would have no hold on me.

In another email, when I refused to do what he wants personally he threatened to lay off my employees. My attorney said that he is crucifying himself because he is refusing to provide financial information and making threats when I don't do as he wishes personally.

I don't know what to believe anymore, I have been bombarded with a lot of information this last week and frankly am pretty disgusted with what I have learned!

it's sad to learn that a man needs to control his loved one by controling her finance (like he did to his wife), business, or whatever that's important to her. i feel sorry for him.

you are a strong woman. just deal with it one step at a time. one day at a time.

good luck.
