DatingQuestions Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Hi, I broke up with my ex recently and I've been suffering from the loss like the rest of us here on this site. I was the dumper, but I had to do it because even though I loved him, I knew that we were not right (good) for each other. It was a battle between my head and my heart... Today while driving, I came to a realization that seemed to have really set me free all of a sudden. I thought that relationships are totally like business investments. There is always a high risk of making the wrong decision when entering one. A bad investment helps us learn to not make the same mistakes the next time. What we can do once we find out that a mistake was made, is to cut our losses and be glad that we are pulling out and are saving ourselves from further damages. We all make mistakes from time to time, this is how life is. Life is not just about happiness, it is a process of seeking and learning! Just want to share my 2 cents for those who might find it helpful.
notmakingsense Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Of course -- perfect analogy! Relationships are investments... investments of time, emotions, your life! And... you only have one life -- so choose your investments wisely!
