Woggle Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Last night my W and I were watching Natural Born Killers and I was fantasizing about us going on a crime spree together. I would not risk prison so I doubt it will ever happen but I thought it would be fun for us to go around the country robbing people. Is this a sign of something deeper or is it just a fantasy?
serial muse Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I suspect the underlying fantasy there has to do with a more general feeling you sometimes appear to have: that it's you and your wife against the world (although hopefully you don't really want to shoot and rob people just in order to reinforce that feeling). But I can kind of understand it - there are times when I'm feeling put-upon by the world in general and I don't feel like talking to or dealing with anyone but my SO.
Author Woggle Posted January 22, 2007 Author Posted January 22, 2007 I don't want to commit any crimes but I do hope that one day we can tavel across the country. I want to just live on the road for a few years.
revolutionphilosophy Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I'd tend to agree with the second poster... you're just identifying with the 'Us Against the World' mentality present in NBK. Maybe bring up this nomadic lifestyle idea to her? See how she takes it? (I caution you though... having done it myself... it's really not all that great... though it is very interesting).

I sometimes fantasize about that, but its Bonnie and Clyde. I agree though about the us against the world.
revolutionphilosophy Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I sometimes fantasize about that, but its Bonnie and Clyde. don't fantasize too hard Ridder Clyde had more than a few homosexual tendencies and the two were anything but monogamous (seeing as how both were involved with other men at times).

Not to worry. The fantasizing is only limited to the criminal aspect of their relationship.
