ByeBye Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 My boss just came in my office and told me that management had decided to outsource my job. I will be allowed to work for 2 more weeks and they will pay me my vacation pay which is 3 days. They don't have to pay out sick by law. I will have no health insurance unless I decide to pay the COBRA thing out of my own pocket to the tune of $300 a month. They told me the "you have done a great job here...yada yada speach". I am so upset. THe job market is just terrible and I worry that I may not be able to find another job to pay my student loans and morgage. What should I do? I am stunded. I think I can get unemployment though. Thanks.

People are terminated from employment every day of the week and are back in work in no time if they just get agressive and put their mind to finding new work. In the longrun, you may find this is the best thing that ever happened to you. In your next job, make yourself indispensible and your job won't get outsourced. Did they give you an opportunity to bid on doing the work they are intending to outsource?
