pricillia Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Oh, I was unaware that Valentines day was a holiday... just another way to sell flowers and chocolate.
Kathleen Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Valentine's Day Is The Holiday For Lovers Silly
pricillia Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 No it is to sell more chocolate and flowers.... and it is almost a month away anyway...

Also you should send greetings, not flowers and chocolate... who knows if St. Valentine even existed... And the whole story is supposed to be wraped around religions and christianity..Lies all lies
tinktronik Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 YSM surly you are not refering to Valentines day . What holliday are you refering to?
guin_girl Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 VD is a pointless day for those of us who don't have someone!! Give me St. Patrick's Day... a beer holiday!!
BenThereDunThat Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I love Valentine's Day! But mostly because of the colors, all the reds and pinks. It is also the day (many years ago...) that I lost my virginity. I get valentines for my co-workers. They're for kids, but they're little pouches with the candy stick on one side and the flavored powder on the other. This will be my 4th year handing them out. Only this year I am going to be selective with who I give them to.
movinon05 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I scheduled to get my taxes done on Valentine's Day! Do you think my BF will mind? I have to laugh at myself. Its been so long since I've celebrated it that it didn't even phase me when I scheduled.
pricillia Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 VD is a pointless day for those of us who don't have someone!! Give me St. Patrick's Day... a beer holiday!! Pointless. Totally pointless... and for those who are single or not in a relationship or OM/OW for that matter... Please do not feel sorry for yourselves if you are alone on Valentines day. If so then pick someone and do something nice for him or her... does not have to be a love interest just someone you care about... and send them a valentine. But I still think that the holiday is to sell more chocolate and flowers... oh and those stupid stuffed white bears with the red hearts all over them.. BTDT, I love red and pink but do we have to have a holiday around it.
BenThereDunThat Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 No, we don't have to have a holiday around it! I just love hearts and lace and pink frilly stuff. It has nothing to do with romance for me. I have great memories of getting up on Valentine's morning and my mom would have our cards laid out on the kitchen table, with candies, and sometimes a little gift. One year I got a tiny silver ring with a teeny, tiny ruby. One year she made my Valentine holder out of a coffee can - spray painted it red and decorated it with hearts and doilies. I just thought it was the most prettiest valentine holder EVER! One year my sister snuck into my house while I was at work and left me cards and a chocolate cake...I'll never forget it. I was very touched. Oh yeah...in 6th grade I had a 'secret pal' leaving me notes in my coat pockets, mailing me letters, and then she finally revealed herself in the valentine card she gave me. She and I are friends to this day. So I have lots of reasons and good memories to love Valentine's Day. Almost none of them have to do with men at all. Just the one time when me and my high school sweetheart finally did it on that day. lol

Pyro Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 It's just fun to decorate with hearts and red is my MOST favorite color... Traitor. Telling me that green was your favorite. Speaking of green, St. Pattys Day is only two months from this Saturday. The green will be out and about that day.

MustBeLove Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I have never been a fan of Valentine's Day. To me it fake, and not romantic in any way. You shouldn't need a day to make you be romantic, or do something nice for the one you love. That's just what I think.
