My wife is a female misogynist and that is why we get along so well. Last night she was going off about feminism and how it is nothing more than a hate movement. If you ask me this is a good test to see if a woman is not some manhating feminist.

I think that's a bit extreme. There's quite a sizeable middle ground between being a misogynist and a raving feminazi. Better to have a balance instead of being on the edges.

ok Woggle I will bite. I think most women are ding bats..... I don't want to deal with the majority of them either...... so do I get on your list? :lmao:

i think Most men are intimidated by female misogynists.

these women are usually called bitches, because they are opinionated.

My wife is opinionated as hell but she is real. She doesn't expect me to be a mind reader or any of that. The issue is brought up and resolved. It is so great being with a woman that doesn't play emotional games.

I think you and I have different opinions on what makes up a feminist. I think you are equating the crazy ones with all of them. Similar to equating abortion clinic bombing, gay funeral picketing Fundamental Christians to all Christians.

Actually, to me your wife sounds like a feminist. I used to think that I wasn't a feminist, but I realized that I was. I expect to be treated like a person instead of a second class citizen. And, that comes with responsibilities. Like, not playing mind games to get what you want, and understanding there are differences in the sexes that should be celebrated. It took me awhile to realize that this is exactly what the true feminism movement is/was about. I think I accepted that I was part of it somewhere along the time that I someone told me that I should drop out of grad school and become a housewife. And, they were serious. Also, when my then bf and I called to get quotes on some mechanic work that he didn't have the tools for and got extremely different quotes.

There are always going to be the loud crazy people in any movement. Your wife isn't a misogynists, she just doesn't like people that are holding back the progress of women in society. And in turn, those that are hurting the feminist movement.

So why do you think your wife is trying to get on your good side ? Did she do something and is in the doghouse trying to get out ?

Excellent point.

Woggle, you've totally lost it this (just this?!) time, mate. I guess she must find this loopy ranting of yours endearing. Or maybe you're only like that here, who knows. Any hate that's being harbored by a person is a time bomb waiting to explode. Keep venting your crazy (and somewhat entertaining) theories here on LS, and everything should be just peachy.

I am not saying i do not definately agree..... but i think alot of men Expect/ deal better the mind/ emotional game crap, even though they say they hate it.

IME being myself, (i.e. less emotional than most chics) a lot of guys i have dated do not know what to do when i do not react in the "normal" way to things.

I think it is a double-edged sword..... but i also think those other guys were pussies if they could not handle Me!

Last night my friend was over and he gave him the tape which he is planning on using and my wife was talking about how sick his soon to be ex made her. She said that women like her are why haven't had a female president yet.

Both misogynist and feminazi have pretty extreme definitions. A misogynist has a hatred or strong prejudice against women simply based on their being female. A feminazi is more equivalent with misandrist, or having a hatred or strong prejudice against men simply based on their being male.

Feminism is defined as a social, political, and moral movement concerned with equal rights regardless of gender. The root of the word being more closely related to women makes it appear that it is defined as only women having feminist beliefs, yet that is misleading. Either sex can be considered a feminist.

Misogynist and misandrist share the same root, and also could be applied to both sexes, although misogynist is more often applied to a man and misandrist is more often applied to a woman.

Human nature dictates that we will find more harmony with those who share our own core beliefs. So, yes, misogynist men should date females who have a strong prejudice against women.

It appears you have found your love match, Woggle, and that is what many people long for.

I might as well call Woggle a Republican, because a few compatriots of his voted for that party. Now on to the Republcan / Woggle bashing ...

Faulty logic, Woggle.

well...it sounds like she's opinionated in the sense that she expresses your opinions to you, woggle. i do hope that she has some of her own, too, though - that aren't just reworked ways of telling you what you want to hear.

So well said dropdeadlegs... It seems there are still far too many people who are confused by what being a feminist means.

I have always hated the term feminazi especially when it is associated with the feminist movement. I mean come on now I don't recall "feminists" ever expressing a desire to do away with all men.

Eh, my husband loves his man-hating feminist. So to each their own.

Oh please - talk to me about feminism when a woman throws her work shirt at a man and says 'do you reckon you could iron this for me sweetie while I shower?' *chuckle* *snort* - Seriously you men just don't know how well you have it - more pay and a 'supportive' spouse to boot. Bite my exfoliated post-modern feminist butt!

I choose expensive rent by myself but at least I don't have to ask a man if I want to buy a dress. *wretches*

I'm not a republican. Pretty much the only part I agree with them is feminism. Rush Limbaugh is wrong about everything else but he is dead right about feminists. Why any man would want to marry or get involved with a feminist woman is beyind my understanding.

Of course we don't want to do away with men..... who will fix the DIY when we mess it up?

I know that it's early in your therapeutic process, but you really have to confront your twisted logic if you want to make any progress, woggle.

I rerally don't think that my logic is twisted. To me it makes perfect rational sense and most guys I know when they get away from women admit I am right.

LOL.

Woggle, you certainly know how to start a thread, I gotta give it to you.

So if most men admit you are right, how come there aren't more celibate monks? huh?

this is why more men than women hunt..... to get away from women!

Sometimes we need to get away from the nagging and emotional drama. there are very places men can go anymore where we can be men without having to watch what we say. I don't go hunting but I need to time to just hang with the guys and no women are invited though I probably would not even mind if my wife came along. She is like a guy in many ways. I admit I get turned on when she trashes her own gender.

What can I say, some men can handle it, some men cannot. ;)

My hubs didn't get involved with me because I'm a feminist, he got involved because we have similar politics, interests, passions, and because he thought I was (am) a smart lil cutie. I just also happen to be a feminist.
