allina Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 For the past two or so months I've been getting pains in the middle part of my upper stomach. At first I didn't think anything of it but it's been happening more and more often, and up till very recently I never had any stomach issues, ever. I went to WebMD and similar sites and from the info there i think it may be an ulcer. Of course I'm not looking for a clear diagnosis here, but has anyone had experiance with stomach ulcers? I don't feel "sick to my stomach" I juat have this pain in the uppser part of it, it usually lasts anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours. I would like to see a Doc about it, but I don't get health insurance from my job till April 1st. Is there anything I can do now to improve the situation? Should I start popping tums on a daily basis? To be honest, I'm sort of worried.

johan Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Good luck! Hope it's not an ulcer. Whatever it is I hope it isn't serious. Maybe you're pregnant.

typical Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 maybe its indigestion? Or nerves? You could go to a walk in clinic to temorarily assuage your fears. They are usually based on a sliding scale fee.
Touche Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Could it be a urinary tract infection? I had that once in my twenties and the pain sounds like what you have. You might want to look that up and see. Cranberry juice takes care of it. There might be some over-the-counter remedy as well.
princessa Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Stomach pain could be due to stress. When i was in university I had experienced stomach pains for about a month. Then I saw a doctor and she sent me home and told me to take some Tums....
Author allina Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 It may be stress as I have been STRESSED these past couple of months, I hope that's all it is. Touche, it's not a uti, I've gotten that before.

Oh, Ok...well are you any better? Have you arranged to go to the Dr. or been yet? (Sorry, if you already mentioned that...too lazy to go back up and re-read.)
johan Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 It's gas. I suggest you keep to yourself until this passes.

(Sorry, if you already mentioned that...too lazy to go back up and re-read.) I'm fine today so far *knocks on wood* I don't want to see a doc because my work health insurance has not started up yet. I don't think it's gas, since I'm not gassy
Ariadne Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Hi, Sounds like you are just nervous with that new job. Ariadne
Author allina Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 Hi, Sounds like you are just nervous with that new job. Ariadne But, I love the new job, I think maybe it's the whole finishing college thing, I don't know what my problem is. I need a healthy way to relax.
Ariadne Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Hey, But, I love the new job Oh, that must be the kind of job I need, because I hated every single job I worked in my life. Yeah, sounds like you are over stressed like you mentioned. Do you have time to exercise at least? Jacuzzi helps too. And to sit in the sun. Ariadne

Ariadne I just quit a job I hated A LOT to start this job, it was the first job I ever really really hated, it was a real downer. I have time to work out sometimes, especially if running to make the train or bud on time counts Thing is, I don't feel too stressed, things in my life are going really well.
Ariadne Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Hi, I just quit a job I hated A LOT to start this job Yeah, I remember the thread. I thought that you could be stressed about the new job because when you start you have a whole bunch of things to learn, especially if they pay you more money it usually means more responsiblity. Well, as long as you are happy with your job, have no stress, and things in your life are going well then I don't know. Ariadne
