Can'tGiveUp Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 but the joke was so perfect I had to forward it... I have reinstated NC...I didn't respond to his second email. His first, well I did reply back...I have this politeness thing in me - he asked how I was, I felt obligated to answer (I know - stupid!!) My response was honest but I asked no questions. I didn't want another email from him but he did anyway...told me how he was etc... but that's it! No more! I decided after the last time around when I pretended everything in my life was "peachy-keen", that I would be totally honest when/if we ever talked. If he thinks I'm okay, then he might try the friends thing. I now recognize that that will NEVER work. On a different note, I met a new 'friend' on the weekend. Won't go anywhere but hey what an ego boost! He's 25, I'm almost 40!
whichwayisup Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Have to ask, what was the joke you forwarded him about? I mean, was it worth breaking NC? Sorry to sound like a nag, but part of NC is not forwarding jokes ... He shouldn't have even been in your thoughts enough to want to send it, ya know??? Cool, 25 years old! Enjoy!
GreenEyedLady Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 On a different note' date=' I met a new 'friend' on the weekend. Won't go anywhere but hey what an ego boost! He's 25, I'm almost 40! [/quote'] Go CGU! And keep up the NC!
Author Can'tGiveUp Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 At this point in time, he is in my thoughts all the time. Was it worth breaking NC? I don't know. It is very hard to wipe someone out of your life like that in one fell swoop. He was my best friend and then my lover. We shared many things, one of which was our sense of humour. There are other jokes that I did not send on...not that I didn't think of him, but no, they weren't worth breaking NC. So I guess maybe I thought this one was.
Art_Critic Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 NC stands for No Contact.. You cannot be in NC if you keep contacting him. If you keep breaking NC then technically you are never in NC.. you know.. No Contact !!!.. It stands for No Contact..
puddleofmud Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 I love that term: "Peachy-Keen"! Peaches are cute and fuzzy and but have deadly "pitts". Did you know that ancient Egyptians filled tombs with fruit pitts? They contain prussic acid which after being compressed with out oxygen are toxic? Once a tomb was opened and the acid was combined with oxygen one would be slayed by prussic acid. Not very "polite" but very much about NO CONTACT! And quite toxic... Hugs to you and many peachy-keen days filled with...peachy-keen 25 year olds or whatever your little peach of a heart desires!
oyster Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 On a different note, I met a new 'friend' on the weekend. Won't go anywhere but hey what an ego boost! He's 25, I'm almost 40! don't under-estimate the OW/YM (older woman/yonger man) relationship. They do work and there are more couples out there. PM me if you want the forum name.
Author Can'tGiveUp Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 I'd love to follow up on that Oyster, however I sort of closed that door...just not ready yet.
