love4ever Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 I know its only January and I'm kinda jumping the gun. But I'm trying get an idea of what we could do. And I'm interested in getting a little something for my man as well. Girls and guys what have you done to spend the day together? And what kinda gifts have any guys gotten or girls given?
Arianna72 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 I am already thinking about what I will be doing but have only been seeing my guy since mid November and we aren't in a 'committed relationship" so that makes it a bit tougher. I always have a hard time coming up with creative ideas for guys. I try to do something different than what I would do on a "typical" date with someone but if you don't have a lot of money that can also make ideas more difficult. What kinds of things do you normally do together and are there any things he is particularly interested in?
Walk Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 I'm feeling the pain!! I have no clue what to do for my bf this valentines day. (It's also our 3 year anniversary on V-day.) I made my bf a little coupon book the first valentines day. He loved it. Still cherishes that thing. I cut the slips of paper, bound them with a piece of colored string, hand wrote every one, and made them specific to things he really enjoys or mentioned he'd like. I made my bf a flag out of paper towels. Sewed the "joints" so it wouldn't fall apart. (I really can't sew) Wrote "Kingdom of (his name)" on it in stylish lettering, (<- it's our joke) and attached it to a wire coat hanger as it's mast/pole. Then hung it in the living room so he'd see it right when he walked in the door. I'll have to think on this... I haven't been very creative lately.
LucreziaBorgia Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 The best valentine I ever got was when I was first married, and we were so poor we couldn't really do much for V'day. While at work, my H tore a little heart out of a note card and wrote "Will you be my valentine" and some other sweet mushy little stuff on it. Something about that sad little paper valentine, and the spirit in which was given meant more to me than any other valentine I had gotten before or since. This year? Well, those married days are long gone and I'm recently out of a LTR - so I'll likely be doing only the "Mom" valentines day thing and exchanging with my kid and showering her with all the goodies.
My Fair Katie Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 The Planetarium at UNC does a special Valentine's Day show. I'll be taking my geeky husband to that, I still need to make dinner plans though. Should be a nice romantic evening under the stars.
allina Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 It's coming up in a month and I have no idea what to do for my bf, I would love to do something special but I'm having a hard time coming up with something. I know that he's going to take me to a nice dinner, and I know that he has my gift/surprise planned. He always plans these things and puts thought in to them. He also hates the cheesy, cliche stuff so I need to come up with something romatic yet unique
konfuzd Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I had one of my ex bf's over for dinner one year with a special desert. I baked him a cake using a heart shaped pan... only with a bit of a twist. If you turn the heart up-side-down, use pink icing, and strategically place some candies, it makes a beautiful boobie shaped cake. He loved it, and couldn't stop telling all his friends about it!

Oh we do the usual: go to the movies, eat out, we went to dave & busters once, sometimes we just hang at home watching movies, and sometimes we place video games together. We havent' done that many things cause we are in a LDR and been dating for a little over a year. I figured since he's coming up to my place I could figure out some thing to do. magichands Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 The Planetarium at UNC does a special Valentine's Day show. I'll be taking my geeky husband to that, Many of the stories are not of the "happy ever after" variety, said Dr. Amy Sayle, Morehead center show presenter. For example, in the 2,000-year-old Chinese legend of the Milky Way, a young couple in love is separated by the girl’s mother, who uses a silver pin from her hair to draw a silver river (the Milky Way) across the sky to keep the young couple apart. Then, just to make sure they stay apart, she turns each one into a star.I can't stop crying. Hang on, did I spoil something??!! Sorry. They have probably changed the show since then. Just "emotionally" preparing you.
Bacon Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I always forget V-Day too, but once a year, gonna do somethng for your another half.
