Do you know his end of tour date? Perhaps you can make a little count down calendar, complete with pictures of you in some tasteful yet provocative poises (No nudes Muslim countries forbid that material and also he will want to show off his beautiful wife to his tent mates ). Each month provide him a little statements that provides both encouragement and reminds him of you. I think that would be a pretty cool gift for some guy trapped in a hostile environment wishing to be with his family instead of there.

An iPod filled with his favorite songs & a battery charger. PS You can upload photos to the iPod as well : )

My cousin is in iraq...well he is home now. anyway, he says that although they give what you NEED they dont give enough and sometimes you need more than NEEDS.

Why not make him a HUGE care package? Razors, shaving cream, shampoo, conditioner, cologne, pictures of you, a calender of when he gets home, his fav. cookies, easy mac n cheese, gum, paper, pens envelopes...just fill it till its running over.

How about a guardian angel?

Cynical, they consider fashion magazines to be porn and forbidden in Iraq. Please don't send pictures in provacative poses. That's for his safety hun. Keep the provacative stuff for the phone calls if you're comfortable with that. Although I love the idea of the calendar! I think that's really cool.

The Ipod sounds neat too. Maybe you can upload a set of love songs that he can listen to that express how much you miss him and love him. Throw in there some songs that will remind him of something funny you two did and make him laugh.

A love-song playlist would be kick ass, and like I said you can also upload some photos on the music iPod (Nano) too, and THAT can be anything you want them to be. It doesnt even look like a picture player. It's not obvious like the new generation iPod that just came out that has a bigger screen and plays full movies. It's a very plain looking and unassuming little mp3 player.

He can carry all his music and comedy albums (200 full albums) and unlimited nude photos of his girl inside a little device that is smaller than a candy bar and he can even leave it in plain sight and nobody would be the wiser. All his buddies will be jealous, too.

What do they use it for? some kind of bomb detection?

Nope......trip wires!

They don't have access to silly string except for what we send them......silly string is the best for finding invisible trip wires without setting them off.....

Pretty amazing how resourceful those guys are. I wonder who thought up that solution.

I was in the same predictament you are in right now and I went crazy with my care package (In a good way)! I sent my hubby conventional items. He absolutely loved the caprisuns I sent him. I also sent healthy snacks and other food items that he loves! Just make sure that it doesn't melt or goes bad. When you go to the post office you will have to

account for all the items that you have in the box so keep that in mind. One more thing to keep in mind... Your hubby will love anything you send him just because you took the time to send something. Also make sure there is enough for others because even if you think you are sending him a gift, you are also supplying his group. :o) (My hubbies shop pretty much lived for my next shipment) Hope this helps and remember that it takes a week for the package to get to him so... it's crunch time!

May your soldier return home unharmed

Send him some tasteful photos. Like old fashioned pin up style. Or have a short movie made and put on CD of you dedicating "something" to him. Or send him some hot underwear and tell him you've warn them and make little gift certificates telling him they are valid when he gets home. Anything flirtatious, sexual or just fun.
