What I'm saying is that I found it a little wierd for someone to shake my hand for something petty like a bank statement. Now had I been in there making a $10,000 deposit, signing up for a saftey deposit box, asking for a loan, or investing in some CD's or IRA's then YES a handshake is in order. For a measley bank statement??? C'mon...

Yes, for a bank statement. Banking is HIGHLY competitive, a lot of people don't use the same bank for things like mortgages and loans as they do for checking and savings accounts. Banks have to compete with organizations like eloans that allow you to shop for lower loan rates. Because of this, managers at banking institutions MUST give more personal attention to their clients.

No, you weren't investing in an IRA, but a bank manager will want you to REMEMBER that the bank treats you with personal attention when the time comes to invest in an IRA. Especially smaller banks that can't compete with really low interest rates. They need you to feel like you are part of that banks "family."

At Blockbuster they know they can only shake you down for $7 for a video. They're not looking at making much interest off your money.

OK here's what I want everyone who is still following this thread to do. The next time you go into your bank, ask for a bank statement. When they give it to you, get up and leave. Don't reach your hand out, let them do it first. The next time you go to Blockbuster, reach your hand out after they give you your movies.

Don't need to. ANYTIME I do my banking at the facility and meet with anyone OTHER than a teller (who can't exactly reach my hand due to the height of the counter and the shortness of the katie), I have ALWAYS had a hand extended to me for a handshake, as has my husband. Occassionally when there is a long line, management will take folks from the line and do their banking in the offices. At these times it has always ended for me with a handshake.

Why would I shake blockbuster dude's hand?

She's unhappily married and wants no-strings with another guy. She picked you out. You took the bait. You got past stage 1 - making the move. She responded with the truth - she's married. She was testing to see if you were brave enough to carry it on. You failed. You are clearly a BETA and while you are posting here, she is with another lucky dude.

LOL @Rhythym28.

^^^ I think he was joking. Of course shaking hands with the blockbuster guy would be creepy, but it would still be funny. I dont think your radar is off, most men look at women everyday and think of the conquest. Men are just hunters. Well, what if she tore her clothes off and begged you to ravish her right on her desk? Would you have objected? Shook her hand and leave? LOL Before or after the ravishing? "Thanks Mam. It was a pleasure doing business with you." HaHAHA!!!

Maybe because she thought she might be able to help you with a bank matter??

My bank's branch manager has a glass office in the corner with his door right near the entry where the ATM's are. He frequently comes out and talks to customers. Sometimes, he gets an opportunity to talk them into speaking with one of the investment advisors.

I think you read way too much into the situation.

lol.. exactly. I often catch a woman looking at me, or make eye contact with her. But that's all that is.. Though when I was single and I had a few women become very forward. As in just coming up and sitting in my lap, or saying things that you knew what their intentions were.

Sounds like to me, that the OP is kinda lonely. In other words, fix your radar. :)

Nah, you're not crazy. She WANTED you. Not seeing the Wedding Ring thing, how hard is it to take off a wedding ring, or to slip it on? She may not have thought you would have asked for her number though, that's when she slammed down the "I'm married" card. If you see her with another guy, other than her husband, I would consider telling her husband, without it being face to face, of course.
