Has anyone ever felt like what you love most about the person is what also makes you hate them?

Posted

Absolutely. You know what they say - There is a fine line between love and hate. Both emotions inspire extreme reactions.

Its probably more of an indication of you - perhaps when he/she does something you "hate" - you "hate" it because it inspires something much deeper in you.

Like when a baby cries - its a sound which grates to the soul but if that sounds not there it will inspire longing. ....if that makes sense.

Yes...sometimes it seems like a fine line. When we love someone we always want to see the good even when deep down we know there are several things we over look and should hate about the person and the situation.

I've tried to hate the man I love for a long time now...I've never been able to do it. Sure I hate things he's done to me but try as I might I just can't hate him. Dear God I wish I could hate him it would make it so much easier to just LET GO!!!

Yeah, it happens in all dealings with other people. I wouldn't call it hate though. Annoyance, yes. Irritation, yes. Hate, no.

Por ejemple: my friend has a great work ethic and it shows in all of his promotions and the way that his co-workers depend on him. But it means that I don't always get to spend as much time with him as his family as I would like, since he is often busy with work.

I love his work ethic and if I really needed him (ie, its really important), he is there. But when I just want to hang out with him, its not always possible as we all have to contend with his love for his job.
