Sevenmack Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I thought that things with my lady and I were going well over the past year. But then comes this: Last night, I mentioned that we should meet up the next day after she gets her eyes checked and her hair done. A little comedy club deal and some dinner. Her response? "I don't know if I'll be tired tomorrow. I know that you don't care if we're just having fun or I'm just looking at you, but I'd rather be refreshed." When someone tells you that they don't know if they'll be tired tomorrow, that just seems to scream that they don't want to spend any time with you. We usually spend the weekends together because we're busy during the week. I'll see her on a Wednesday and I'll either stay over at her place or she stays at mine. This weekend, we spent a few days together during New Years; but we had both gone out of town for Christmas during the previous week and had six days away from each other. But she's now starting a bible study group on Sundays, so they'll be less time during the weekends. And after last night's conversation, I'm not even sure she wants to see me during the weekday. Is it time to just simply let her take some time away from us? Or am I overreacting?

I couldn't have said it any better. Sounds like she isn't too interested anymore. I'd just withdraw for a while. Don't call or e-mail. And, whatever you do, don't try to "talk it over" with her. That's always an exercise in futility, because she'll only tell you what you want to hear, regardless of how she really feels. Just disappear for a while. If she's interested, she'll come at you.
